GastHaus Hotel Bremen

I arrived at 11.30pm and it's great that I could check in late. Other Bremen guesthouses don't always allow that. The place is simple but super clean and very comfortable. They were also very helpful with letting me leave my baggage in storage on the last day.

Brilliant location for 1 night in beautiful Bremen. Really friendly staff. I stayed in 'Oslo' room which was super clean, light and airy. Breakfast was delicious in the very cute restaurant.

Convenient location. Close to central station and all main tram and bus lines.

Not enough quilt for winter.

The room facilities are very good and comfortable for stay. All rooms are named like a cities in Europe (mine was Kiev).

Good, well located hotel, good buffet breakfast, do not be put off check in at Hostel around the corner, hotel is very comfitable.

Cheap and perfectly fine accommodation near the station. Helpful staff, the man who welcomed me even spoke French. Good bed, good bathroom, good tv, fairly quiet, very good breakfast.

There was only one towel in my bedroom but apparently it was a mistake and the staff would help you about it.

Clean, comfortable room. Breakfast room particularly pleasant. Very handily located. Wifi good.

Breakfast buffet is fine, apart from the rolls: they're the part-baked kind from supermarkets.

At £35 it was brilliant value for money. Jolly nice room. Near the main station, so not exactly the Mayfair of Bremen, but I felt perfectly safe.

Someone started playing the piano above me at 8am. Not really a problem, as I was already on the way out, but it would have annoyed me had I planned to sleep in.

Excellent breakfast buffet and reliable WLAN in a budget hotel. I will definitely put them on top of my list of places to stay during my two day visits to beautiful Bremen in the future..

It has poor "curb appeal" as the signage is a bit younger than the clientele actually seemed to be. Once inside the hotel it is just what I was expecting and generally well-managed in every detail.

The price

We were not told of a $4 Euro tax beforehand.

I was going to Bremen for a pre-season friendly between Werder Bremen and Aston Villa, I needed something comfortable, cheap and within easy access, this hotel proved to be ideal. It is located around 400 yards from the main Bremen train station and I was able to walk everywhere for the three days I was in Bremen. I had a single room, which was called 'Kiev' (no room numbers) and was en-suite with a shower, toilet and sink, provided with complimentary shampoo/shower lotion, loo rolls and towels, there is a flat screen tv, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, free wifi, the single bed seemed to have one of the memory foam type mattresses which was very comfy, a seperate desk, chair and lamp. There are a few clubs in the vacinity, but I heard no music from them at any point, I did hear local conversations from outside which woke me, but I did have the window open as the room was too warm for me. The is an eat all you can breakfast option currently at 6.5 euros per morning, I did not bother with this as I had checked beforehand and there is no hot food in this option, just 'continental style' breakfast. For what I needed it was very good, but its a very posh hostel, rather than a hotel.

No lift

Good location. About 10 minutes (or less) away from Bremen Central station and easy to access to the central town. Both ways by walk. The staff speak English well. The room I stayed was a double bed room with a shower and a toilet. It was a single use price. Very tidy, clean and quiet.

When I arrive near the hotel, I was confused because it was a bit difficult to find the reception. There're 3 buildings ( I think) and the reception is in one of the buildings. After you check in, the receptionist will lead you to your room that would be in the same building that has the reception, or in other buildings. There is no lift in my building. It didn't matter for me though. No fridge in my room and there're no shops or news agents around the hotel. The check-in time is 3pm, it should be 2pm... but you can leave your luggage at the reception if you arrive there before the check-in time.

It's noisy at mid-night and early morning.

Friendly and helpful staff.

No telephone in the hotel room. There is a night club nearby, so it's too loud to keep the window open at Fr/Sa (if your room faces to the street).

Location - close to station, walking distance to old city. Light airy room, food good. Ask for a room at the back.

Our room was up three flights of stairs (no lift). Although staff were apologetic, very noisy at night (Thursday/Friday) especially with windows open, no air conditioning. Power plugs not convenient for jug, computer etc.

Everything was perfect: friendly staff, small, but very clean and good equipped room (TV, free WiFi, Tea etc.), free parking, comfortable bed and good location. Definitely will stay next time.

The GastHaus Hotel in Bremen enjoys a convenient location less than five minutes by foot from the train station. The staff is friendly and helpful, while the rooms, although rather small by American standards show well, being safe, clean, and bright. Nice, they are well-furnished, and come complete with new television set and coffee service. The breakfast includes a wide range of foods in addition to the usual rolls and coffee. The GastHaus provides very good value for the traveller on a budget.

Quite suprising was that instead of numbers there are names of capital cities on the doors. Very creative :) The room I was in was absolutely amazing! I was very pleased with it. The hotel was close to Train station, city centre and the fun fair! The staff very kind and helpful. I can't complain and I recommend it to everyone travelling to Bremen.
