Gasthaus Weingut Stahl

The owner of the Gasthaus was wonderful. He went out of his way to make us comfortable. The food at the Gasthaus was the best of our entire trip. We were pleasantly surprised to get the gourmet meal that was served. The wine from the Stahl winery was very good and we enjoyed the opportunity to taste the several varieties that they have to offer. Would definitely recommend this hotel, well worth the slightly out of the way location.

We really enjoyed our stay here- by far the best of the whole holiday. Paul and Marcia Stahl were friendly, charming and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The quality of the food and wines in the restaurant was outstanding and quite reasonably priced. Breakfast was very good with delicious scrambled eggs on offer as well as waffles and a good buffet spread. The Gasthaus has a lovely terrace outside where we ate. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable with large balconies with nice views over the farming countryside. We will definitely come back!!

Great setting in the small hamlet of Delhofen; which sits on the hills over the Rhine (Only 2 km to the river). Large, updated rooms in a beautiful "country inn ". Great local food and wines (quality/quantity/costs). To make your stay really memorable; the family Stahl is extremely friendly and welcoming. The ladies of the family, who prepare/serve breakfast, are wonderful. Their only concern is that you get enough to eat and enjoy the food (eggs from "happy chickens"). Paul brought us to the wine cellar after dinner. After a brief tour, he left us alone to enjoy his excellent wines at our pleasure. Overall, one of the best values we found in a week's touring of Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. We hope to return someday.

The breakfast was the best we had during our three-week vacation, and the staff was friendly and eager to make sure the guests had everything they needed.

We were received by an elderly charming lady. She and all of the family/staff in this family owned hotel seemed to love their guests and really cared for them. We felt like almost being guests in their home. The Deluxe room was a lovely big one with a big bathroom. The location was quiet.

The view from the window was not very exciting.

We were welcomed with a big smile and an offer to carry our bags in perfect English. We had a (very) Deluxe Double Room in this family run (for several generations) hotel, the food was magnificent, huge portions and the breakfasts the best we have had anywhere in the world. The service was exemplary and the atmosphere wonderful. I have only said this once before (about a place in S.Africa) but we really want to return!
