Its location, as a stopping off place on a long journey, in our case from Zadar, Croatia, back to the UK. It s very remote, and the Sat Nav prefered the 156 in Austria to get us there, Much better if travelling from the south to use the 12 on the German side of the River Inn.
Perhaps on the website it would be worth adding the faster route as it avoids having to go into Salzburg , not good at 5pm on a weekday.
Not the fault of the establishment, its ideal for someone wanting a quiet spot to stay a night or few away from the heavy traffic of the near cities.
very friendly and clean,
good quality food and beer, I can not fault anything.
The Host was very attentive, if you wanted another beer or anything with the food she was close and very prompt.
Her English was good which helped as I only speak limited German, and the accent in that part of Bavaria, makes the German taught in school or from on line material difficult.
Luckily, I worked in Munich ten years ago for a while, so the German I learnt was Bavarian.
I would really recommend this Gaust haus to anyone, Its an old coaching Inn with a lot of history in a quiet little village, If I was in the area again I would have no hesitation in rebooking.
