Hotel Gendarm nouveau    

Great location, very nice and modern design of the hotel. Everything we needed was in our room, incl. set for tea/coffee preperation - which is very important for us. Room was very silent. We didn't hear any noises from the outside or from other rooms/corridors. Super comfortable, large bed. I truly recommend that hotel!

The only thing - there was very little cosmetics in the bathroom and no slippers.

Reception staff very helpful with printing and knowlegae of the area.

well-priced, no negative surprises, attentive staff, free internet, rooms were clean and easy in which to live

color choices in the room, mine 402, made it dark. Could add depression to jet lagged. I would lighten the color scheme. Also, the downstairs bar seemed out of place. I was not sure what kind of message it was conveying. hip? Does not seem like a good idea. I would make it more inviting.

Perfect location, next to a beautiful square, close to a tube station, surrounded by excellent shops, bars and restaurants and next door to the world's biggest chocolate shop!

Fantastic location in probably the nicest and most upmarket piazza in Berlin. Friendly and very helpful staff contributed to my experience. The Hotel is very good value for money.

Location and the view from the lounge! Lovely, small hotel near interesting sites and lots of good restaurants near by.

Breakfast was excellent but costs €15 extra per person. If you want to eat in the lounge on the 7th floor, it costs €23! That would have been fun so do it if you are celebrating something!

EVERYTHING from the welcoming staff at front desk, to the lovely and serene atmosphere , the so quiet location and the fact that the hotel has only a few rooms and is located in one of the loveliest and most convenient location in Berlin Mitte. This is my second stay and hope for a third visit.

The rooms were beautiful, the location was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

There wasn't any air conditioning in the rooms.

Location moments away from Unter Den Linden, Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, breakfast (though chargeable at 15 Euros per person), free wifi, bathroom with great walk in shower.

Expensive parking nearby (24 Euros per 24 hours). Rooms on the small size.

Great location, walkable distance from all Berlins central sights and attractions. Great staff and service.

well, efficient equpped rooms for right price

Small but conveniently appointed room and very clean. Loved the balcony that looked out on the beautifully lit square full of the Christmas Market.

We arrived in a snowy Berlin in mid Decenber it was a late flight so it was a late arrival and we were cold and exhausted. What a wonderful welcome we had. So friendly warm and welcoming (even free chocolate)! The room was beautiful, the location is perfect, the staff helpful and friendly and although we didn't have breakfast there, we did order snacks in the evening and found the food to be excellent. It is only a couple of minutes walk from Gendarmenmarkt which had the most wonderful Christmas market while we were there. We found it easy to walk to Checkpoint Charlie, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and TV Tower from the hotel, although it is right by Stadtmitte U bahn and we used the U bahn and S bahn a lot too. It's very easy to use. It is right next door to the most incredible chocolate shop you've ever seen and the whole area round the hotel is lovely. Very central but not too busy and noisy. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

It was a great hotel but I'd be lying if I said it was perfect with no areas for potential improvement. These are however minor points and caused no real concern at all. I'm just being balanced! Our room looked over the inner courtyard. That's fine. I know not every room can have a view but....the noise early in the morning did wake me. Bins on wheels being pulled noisily along, voices and one time, an engine being revved. I should add however that the room window was open. I know it was minus 9 out but I like fresh air! The only other point is not specific to this hotel but seems to be a European thing....it wasn't really a double bed, it was two singles pushed together with a single duvet each. Wonderfully comfortable beds, lovely and spacious but hard to cuddle up. I should add that these things are minor and would not stop me staying in the same hotel again or even the same room. Overall it's a great place to stay.

It's central location and the many restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. If we had been there for the shopping that would have been a big plus too. However we were there for the architecture and history of Berlin and we were right in the middle f that too.

You can see we did spend some money in the hotel ! Late one night after we had eaten out we came back in and asked for drinks including a glass of Champagne. It was half the previous measures we had and was flat or the glass had not been properly cleaned. When mentioned to one of the staff we were really dismissed - she claimed she had opened a new bottle. mentioned again when we were settling our bill we got no sympathetic comment and had to pay for it. On the scale of things possibly a small point but one worth mentioning.

The rooms were very spacious (for one person) and comfortable. The beds and especially the pillows were excellent.
