We arrived late our first night, and realizing the kitchen was closing, asked if it was possible to still get dinner. The waitress replied there were only a couple items left, and were we ok with that. It was fine by us, and we ordered for the table, based on their supply. It was my wife, two kids, my 70+ year old mom and me. The food arrived, but my mom received nothing. After a few minutes we asked what the status of her order was...the response was a shrug and "we don't have any more food." A shocking response, given that we checked to ensure they could accommodate us. It was late so we split up our dinner with my mom and made do with what we had.
When we checked out, sure enough, we had been charged for the dinner we didn't get, and worse, my mom got into an argument with the owner's wife over it. She refused to remove a dinner from our bill that we never received.
The husband overheard the issue, took over, and removed the dinner.
That experience tainted an otherwise lovely stay there. Everything else was very nice, but be sure to check your bill when checking out, and work with the husband if there are issues.
Beautiful location, and for my wife and I, it was a return to a place we visited over 20 years ago, while we were dating.
