The staffs are very friendly, especially Frau Müller. Its restaurant has a wide range of local and foreign wines for tasting. One can order the wine by the glass, with a very reasonable price. The food served in the restaurant was also very good. The hotel room was spacious and comfortable. It offers a wide range of pillows for the guests to choose if one is not happy with what is provided in the guest room. Lastly, its breakfast buffet was also excellent.

Our apartment was excellent - it had everything we needed, and was very spacious. We had an absolutely superb dinner at the restaurant downstairs. The bathroom was large, warm and well-stocked. We wished we could have stayed for longer!

Comfortable apartment that lived up to the positive reviews posted previously. Friendly efficient staff, (some of whom spoke English). Nice ambiance within the restaurant. Food was tasty and nicely presented.CNN And bbc World available via satellite channels.

The Goldenes Fass was a pleasant surprise. Each room is a small apartment, and all is new, clean and comfortable. I would fo there again as it was a pleasant surprise. The hotel sits on a hill overlooking Meissen. The staff is helpful and friendly! Highly Recommend!

Parking is tight but workable.

We were in a one-bedroom apartment; very cute and clean but it took a long time to get it warm and comfy. There is a huge thermal lag in those stone houses.

It's an excellent Hotel, very good services and friendly helpful staff. The Hotel Room is big, bright and clean. You are able to choose your pillow from the pillowbar (the waterpillow is absolutely wonderful). There's also a DVD player in the room. We weren't able to have breakfast in the morning because of a course that started a seven. But they offer the oppurtunity of ordering a lunch package, which was filled with drinks, bread/sandwich, fruit and a small snack. So it was absolutely perfect. We can also recommend the restaurant with very tasteful dishes. I think it's the best hotel we have ever been to.

A nice Hotel for couples touring the area. Excellent restaurant. Not a Family nor a business Hotel.

Parking the car near the Hotel can be a challenge

Very pleasant room with modern amenities in quiet residential location. Hotel is across the river from the old town center of Meissen. It is just a 5 minute walk, but the walk back is uphill half the way, so that should be considered.

Parking is very tight in small parking areas.

Friendly welcome with complimentary drink and fresh fruit. On site parking. Large room, with mini-bar (also useful for storing our own things), easy chairs, balcony with parasol. Smart bathroom with toiletries and hairdryer. Free WiFi with good signal. Plentiful German breakfast with nice coffee. Location on quiet street only a short walk from the old town. It was perfect - comfortable, convenient and friendly.

Not a disike, only a comment that in this area English is not widely spoken - so be bold with even your rudimentary German and you'll be fine.

Very charming and quiet, and an easy walk from the hotel across the river to the Old Town. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Excellent breakfast included in the price of the room. There is a gourmet restaurant in the hotel, too. Our room was large, well appointed, and had the most comfortable bed we have experienced to date on our trip (which has included Vienna and Prague, too). Meissen itself is a gem of a place, well worth a visit. We would definitely stay in the Goldenes Fass Meissen were we to return for another visit to this beautiful little town.

Excellent accommodation and service in the hotel. Very nice breakfast buffet.

The restaurant attached to the hotel served very good food, but the advertised price of 22 euro for dinner was not available. Also, the children of one of the owners or employees were allowed to run about the dining room making quite a bit of noise, interrupting as the servers took orders, and even at one point crawling beneath my table as I ate. The children were not disciplined at all and served to make a lovely meal unpleasant. The presence of the children (approx ages 3 and 5) would not have been troublesome had their carers taken the trouble to ensure they behaved. I like children, but the behaviour allowed was very unreasonable, especially given the price I paid for the meal on my first night. I did not return for another dinner.

Wir haben uns im Goldenen Fass rundherum sehr wohl gefühlt, und werden bestimmt wieder kommen!

schwierige Parkplatzsituation, es passen nur drei Autos auf den Hof, wer später anreist, muss suchen. Duschvorhang unzeitgemäß. Wenig ideenreiches Frühstück, Rührei ja, gebratenen Speck gibts nicht! Backwaren pappig, kein Toaster.

Замечательно все в этом отеле! Интернет есть, парковка есть, персонал дружелюбный, еда вкусная. Номер шикарный, большой по площади.

1泊しかしなかったのが勿体無かったなと思うほど、素敵なホテルでした！ また、レストランでの食事もとても美味しかったので、泊まった方にはぜひ利用していただきたいです！

Det var en god beliggenhed i forhold til byen. Et meget venligt og hjælpsomt personale. Og super mad og vin.

Der Aufenthalt im Goldenen Fass war für uns Perfekt. Alles hat gestimmt, von der Begrüßung bis zum Abendessen. Zimmer sind liebevoll gestaltet, das Essen im Restaurant und zum Frühstück ist qualitativ hochwertig und schmeckt Super! Das Personal ist immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sollten wir auf unserer nächsten Fahrradtour in Meißen vorbei kommen werden wir auf jedenfall dort wieder übernachten wollen.

Das Wetter zu Ostern 2013 war ......! Aber dafür kann das Goldene Fass nichts!
