Great breakfast, nice big clean room. Even though our room was on the street side, traffic noise was minimal. 10 minute walk to old town Rothenburg. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Fabulous dinner in hotel restaurant.

Excellent hotel with great employees. A fantastic experience and good value for money with a very good restaurant as part of the hotel. A previous person commented that the hotel is a bit far from the "old town" area but I disagree with this statement. It rained and snowed for most of the time we stayed at the Goldenes Fass and the town was close enough to walk to with an umbrella which we got from the hotel. The town is fantastic mix between activities, history and an excellent Christmas Market. We visited a number of towns/cities during our trip to the EU and Rothenburg ob der Tauber was definitely a high point and even my 12 and 15 year old kids felt this way. To the employees at the Goldenes Fass a great big thank you for making our trip to your exceptional town one to remember for every. To prospective travellers – I will go to Rothenburg ob der Tauber again and definitely in this time just before Christmas. Price is a good balance between what you get and what you pay for. They have very friendly staff and a good restuarant.

We liked the fact the it had a restaurant attached to it and the food was delicious. The staff were very helpful and friendly and concerned about our comfort and well being. It is within 5 minutes walking distance to the old city, which is an absolute must to see if visiting the Romantic Road area. The price was very reasonable, both for the room and the meal. Breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety of foods on offer. ONsite parking was excellent too. I would definately recommend it. A lift would be appreciated when heavy bags have to be taken to the room.

The hotel was within an easy 10-15 minute walk to the old town gate. The room was small for four people and the second bed was a pull out couch rather than a real bed and it was very uncomfortable. It was extremely warm and they had no air conditioning nor did they have portable fans for guests to use.

The location of Goldenes Fass was ideal for us as a stopover between Paris and Upper Austria. Hotel parking was good. The hotel was located outside the centre of Rothenburg which we enjoyed visiting in the evening.

Close to the city centre, spacious family room, very good restaurant in the hotel, parking on site, lovey breakfast. The radiator in one of our rooms was on - no need for it in the middle of July!

The location is quite good. It's not far from the Bahnhof and a discount store. The breakfast is good. Also, the hotel staffs are quite nice. I and my family are happy to stay there.

First impressions were disappointing since we are used to staying in more modern hotels, and the location on a busy road junction isn't ideal. But, once you re-calibrate and realise that this is a traditional Bavarian hotel in style, with helpful and efficient staff, ample parking, well equipped, comfortable, clean and reasonably spaceous rooms, we grew to appreciate it more. It was a 5 minute walk from the old town gate and disproportionatly cheaper than it would have been to stay in the old town. Also there aren't many hotels with family rooms. The location wasn't great and it could do with a bit of modernisation, but really, these were superficial.

I like everything, the staff was very friendly, the rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are very comfortable,the breakfast buffet was great and it was near historical downtown Rothenburg too.Allover a great location to stay for the money. Das Hotel hat eine super Lage und einen großen Parkplatz direkt am Haus. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind äußerst sauber und angenehm. Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Camera pulita e cofortevole, anche se un po' piccolina per quattro persone. Colazione ottima, grande parcheggio privato dietro all'hotel, personale cordiale e disponibile, posizione non proprio centrale, ma abbastanza vicina al centro storico di Rothenburg.

“The service at the Klosterstuble was excellent! The owner (Erika) was very accommodating and informative -- she knew exactly what was available and not, who to talk to where, and gave us a wonderful recommendation for dinner where we could mingle with the locals. We were traveling with an infant, and she went to extra effort to ensure we had everything we needed. The hotel is amazing, the perfect mix of antique with modern, and our room was clean and comfortable. “This wonderful historic hotel is right on the market square in the centre of town but still an easy walk from the station. The staff were very bright and friendly. Our family room was huge with lots of seating and plenty of space for the 4 of us and our luggage. The rooms were warm and quiet.
