Score from 116 reviews Wonderful
It is a wonderful hotel - spacious, bright, cozy, quiet. It does not matter how many people are staying - you just can not see them. The beds in our rooms were very comfortable, the food was very very tasty with a great choice of fruit, vegetables, cold and hot dishes. The staff was quick, friendly and unobtrusive. A perfect place to have a rest in a quiet, friendly, pleasant atmosphere. The hotel is located just 12 minutes leisure walk to the centre of Garmish. It has a huge parking lot. The pool is open from 7 a.m till 10 p.m. Everybody gets bathrobes and towel free of charge.
Wifi signal was not very strong in our rooms.
Room was large, #106. We had a balcony but did not use, did have good views of mountain. Is on main road so is easy access to town and attractions. Staff were friendly and restaurant was good. Liked having writing desk an separate sitting area.
Room had carpet, would prefer hardwood floors.
Staff very helpfull and welcoming. Location very good Clean Hotel Nice view
- Room Door Lock (Old - Not automatic). - Lift ( Old ). - No luggage carrier from car to room.
Nice quite location
The wifi is horrible. The fire alarm went on at 3 a.m. It was a false alarm
The stuff helpful
The rooms is smily
Beautiful and large corner room. Very reasonably priced. Loved sitting on balcony with wine and viewing mountains. Breakfast great and friendly staff.
Every thing was great.
The view from the balcony!!!! Room very large! Breakfast was amazing, so many options.
Front desk staff not very helpful with setting up tours of the famous Castles. Seemed to laugh at us for wanting information and with help getting there.
The breakfast room was nice, although food was not great. Free parking was nice. The room was clean, including the bathroom. Staff was friendly, although didn't help with concerns.
This is my family's 5th time staying in Garmisch. Usually we stay for pleasure, but this time I had to work in the morning. We arrived about 8:30 at night and were greeted nicely. We booked a double superior room with forest view. The room was very small. There was about 1-2 feet on all sides of the bed. We had to move furniture just to fit my child's small air mattress. Asked the front desk if this room was correct and she said, yes, she upgraded us to a mountain view. Well, the mountain view faces the busy noisy main road. So with windows open, all we heard all night were cars, sirens, people talking. But that didn't really matter because I had to shut the window as people on our shared balcony were smoking which was coming in and blowing on my child. Then were totally awoken by someone pulling the fire alarm. Horrible evening....we slept about 2 hours and my child is traumatized by the fire alarm now. If it were a fire, I'd understand , but it wasn't. And no compassion or refund of any kind. The man at check out promised to "tell management."
Friendly and attentive staff Classic and historic hotel
View from room. Good breakfast
Inconvenient location too far out of town. There is allegedly a bus service, but reception staff could not provide details. The first room I was allocated reeked of stale cigar smoke. A replacement was offered only reluctantly, after repeated requests despite the hotel appearing half empty. Room facilities poor for a hotel of this standard - no fridge or functioning wifi. At dinner,I was the only diner in restaurant, yet both food and service were dreadful.
far from the center
A lovely hotel, comfortable rooms, friendly staff and a lovely breakfast.
It was a bit out of town, although we were given a bus pass to take us to and from town, however the buses were very few and far between. There were children running up and down the corridor and making noise at 6am which upset one couple out of the group.
The breakfast. The size of the room and the amazing view from the balcony Half board was good value for money
The bathroom was dated with shower over bath The bedroom was dull and dated
View to the city is great from 3rd floor Swiming pool is very good and warm
25 min walking to city center
The excellent facilities, wonderful surroundings with awesome views, Garmisch Partenkirchen is a beautiful place to visit with great restaurants and loads of activities in surrounding areas.
No A/C in room; avoid during 8-10 weeks of summer heat
The owner is from my home town
Views. Balcony. Pool.
Cancellation policy. Clientele - we did not expect to be outnumbered 5:1 by Muslims. Arrow in our bedroom pointing to Mecca. No coffee making facilities in room or elsewhere. Luggage trolleys frankly useless. Only after loading do you discover the 3 steps down to the lift. Trolley does not fit the lift.
The most incredible view we have ever had while eating the complimentary (very good) breakfast. The hotel and rooms are very clean and just about gives it the "Grand Hotel" feeling. Sauna and pool were very nice to take a dip in as well.
The wi-fi was terrible. Some of the worst internet service I have experienced in a few years. They had to give a separate login for each device that was used, but it was all on the same network so who knows how it was. Also, I can't really blame the hotel, but being an American we are used to lots of pillows and AC. This hotel lacks both. It got a little too humid for our comfort for the two nights we were there and there was only one pillow available for us. The pillows provided were airy and relatively ineffective. The pillows and lack of AC seem to be the way things are in Germany, but at least be weary.
Great location, very friendly staff.
Rather old room but clean. You could forgive the age for nice area and friednly staff!
The fact that the bartender was on vacation and no one knew how to make drinks. There was no air conditioning. There are no ice buckets and ice is unheard of there.
Great selection for free breakfast.
Friendly, courteous staff. Excellent food in the bar.
Noisy room (creaky floorboards!)
Comfortable beds, fluffy terry robes, lovely setting and excellent breakfast.
No air conditioning and hotel was a bit far from center of town to walk.
