This is my family's 5th time staying in Garmisch. Usually we stay for pleasure, but this time I had to work in the morning. We arrived about 8:30 at night and were greeted nicely. We booked a double superior room with forest view. The room was very small. There was about 1-2 feet on all sides of the bed. We had to move furniture just to fit my child's small air mattress. Asked the front desk if this room was correct and she said, yes, she upgraded us to a mountain view. Well, the mountain view faces the busy noisy main road. So with windows open, all we heard all night were cars, sirens, people talking. But that didn't really matter because I had to shut the window as people on our shared balcony were smoking which was coming in and blowing on my child. Then were totally awoken by someone pulling the fire alarm. Horrible evening....we slept about 2 hours and my child is traumatized by the fire alarm now. If it were a fire, I'd understand , but it wasn't. And no compassion or refund of any kind. The man at check out promised to "tell management."
The breakfast room was nice, although food was not great.
Free parking was nice.
The room was clean, including the bathroom.
Staff was friendly, although didn't help with concerns.
