This family-run hotel is in the Schöneberg district of Berlin, a 10-minute walk from the world-famous KaDeWe Department Store. Hotel Ambiente offers classically furnished rooms, all with free Wi-Fi.
Score from 1112 reviews Good
Close to the airport and subway, pretty quiet area with some good bars and restaurants around. Room is small but big enough, great wi-fi and easy checkin and checkout with the friendly owners.
The room was clean, the breakfast was good, and the Wi-Fi was free and of good speed.
The hotel doesn't accept cancellations or any changes to the reservation. Once it's booked, the money is paid, and no change is possible. That's the only downside to this otherwise good hotel.
The people running the hotel are AMAZING! So helpfull and sweet! Breakfast is fantastic, location great and it was SOO quiet - some of the best sleep we've had in a while.
Can't beat this for quality price ratio. Hatts off to the lovely hosts.
The lady who works there its great. she looks after customer and made you feel like in home. Wifi works very well. Location its great. between 2 U-bahn so its great to visit the city. The area of the Hotel its safe and very nice auch.
I had read the reviews online and booked the hotel based on such positive feedback and the hotel's central location. I am very pleased with this decision. This was my third trip to Berlin and overall this has been the best experience I've had at a hotel. The owners are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. I had the unfortunate experience of the airline losing my bag, and the owners called the airline for me to help check and expedite the process, they even brought the bag to my room when it was finally delivered. Very close to the hotel is the Nollendorfplaz U Bahn station which is very convenient in accessing the city.
Good location, friendly staff.
Cold at night. We were asked at noon whether the heat was OK and couldn't have known that we were not able to adjust the heat when we came back at midnight. The room was a huge old room with a bathroom in a sort of container. If we had been travelling with a suitcase, the steep steps could have been a challenge.
well located near Nollendorfplatz metro station. lots of bars and restaurants nearby. It is the gay area of Berlin but perfect for our non-gay group also. comfortable room. nice staff. good value for money. would definitely stay there again
The owner is very friendly, the rooms were clean and facilities are well maintained.
A bit far from the attractions being in West Berlin, but not much of a problem for me really
Friendly couple taking care of you. Nice old building just 5 min from Nollendorfplatz station.
There are a couple of stairs to manage until you reach the hotel floor. The bathroom was fitted in later (of course, it's an old building) so it is not very spacious.
Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was good value for money. Premises were very secure. Internet was good. Location was excellent.
Would have liked a kettle in my room perhaps.
Staff made every effort to make our stay enjoyable. Very good value and at a convenient location to public transportation. Basic guest house accommodations may appear sparse, but nonetheless quite comfortable.
Very friendly staff. The hotel is close to shopping street and not so far from center (if you like walking - it is easy to reach it on foot). There are a lot of restaurants and cafes around. Beautiful interior.
It was a little difficult to find - small signboard. I stayed during two nights and changed the room after the first one (hotel's reason) that is not comfortable for me. There is no utility outlet near the table to connect the notebook if you would like to work at the table.
Have stayed before and am very satisfied, this time I was upgraded to a big double room which was very nice.
Wifi didn't work in the room.
Kind, helpful staff/hosts (owners)! Great value for money, location, breakfast, cleanliness.
Super friendly and helpful hosts who made us feel very warmly welcomed and comfortable. Good location having easy access to every 'must see place' in Berlin. Walking distance to Kurdamn and there we could take bus no.100 which goes through very center (Brandenburger tor/Museum sinsel) directly. Metro station is also in 5-10min distance (simple and fast way to go to East Side Gallery). Want to try local food near hotel? Just ask to hosts for recommendation. They lived that area over 30 years and will give you perfect advice.
Owners are super-friendly and everything was perfect about the room and the service. Great wi-fi.
Nothing not to like.
This was my first trip to Berlin, and Simone and Horst warmly welcomed me. They are always friendly and helped me a lot to enjoy my stay. The hotel is close to the station and it's convenient to go anywhere. Arigato!
Free WiFi in rooms, Quiet all around (but walls not soundproofed), great host/hostess.
Official name is "Gunia Hotel-Pension", they drop PENSION name in ads, and show sign on bldg (as if whole bldg is 'hotel'; it is a 8-room minimalistic-miser pension on one floor only, on the first floor of a 5-floor residential bldg!. No Lobby just dining room with lights off except brkfst time, no internet/PC available.. WC in rooms is in a corner and WC walls do not go up to room ceiling, but up only 2/3, and WC flat roof collects dust in bedroom, just like dust under old steam radiators, etc. PAYMENT is collected advance at checkin, and NO checkin 11PM-8AM! You carry 3-keys with room key 4-inches (10cm) with you.Breakfat 8-10am same minimalistic menu served to individually: rolls, cold cut meat and cheese slices, soft boiled egg, jce, yogurt, packets of butter, konfiture, tea/coffe (no cereal, no milk, no fruits, no hot meals, etc). Rms No1 & 2 face street, above a 1-riim cafee with bench, chairs, music, talk etc. all day long/night! Rest of rooms on court side with very tall trees, quiet but with open/window hear other open windows talk, piano, etc. Rooms see never see sun, sun no reach down to first pension level (no A/C). Busy weekends, late risers might have hot water shortage. Price is same with other neighborhing real hotels: Sachsenhof, Mercure, Ibis/budget too., etc.
Situated in a quiet street just a few metro stops from the city centre, this hotel offered a good night sleep, probably the best we had in Germany, in a beautiful old building with matching retro decor. Iranian rugs were a nice touch. The owners are lovely, always at your service and ready to help with anything. Would defo stay here again. Metro station is less than 5 mins on foot.
No elevator, if that's a problem for you. It wasn't for us.
Good value for money, great location close to many attractions and public transportation. Clean room and friendly staff.
Private bathroom in the corridor was OK but not ideal. A bit thin-walled.
Great value for money for the budget travellor
Just wonderful welcome from Simone .very friendly and nothing was a problem.Helped with all travel and tourist enquiries..mins away from trains and buses..restaurants abundant in the area.truly a wonderful stay.I left my toothbrush charger behind and it was swiftly sent to my hotel a few days later..thank you Horst and Simone..Breakfast substantial.had separate bathroom for my use only and was as big as my room.
Nothing I can complain about.
