Nice friendly lady , was free to come and go as I pleased. She keeps a lovely clean house and I would certainly stay there again Gone back to here and I see I am not the only one that nearly never got in for arriving late through no fault of their own , but I do think that booking .com should be making it clear from the beginning. All things said my room was cheap I was comfortable and I had good value for money and I would go there again , It is a lady on her own and when you get to know her she is lovely.
Got off to a really bad start as my bus was really late in getting into Munich because of the beer festival and had a long wait for the Garmish bus , Lady not keen to let me in as i arrived so late. I think booking . com should show at the very beginning that you must check in before 6 , I only saw that after I had booked and paid ,I was given more time after contacting them myself.
Location to downtown and dining was excellent.
Room was below average, bathroom was so small you had to sit sideways on the toilet and shower about the same. Lady who did the check in was rude and offered no assistance to the area.
I liked everything - a warm welcome, spacious, comfortable room with a large balcony, a stylish vintage interior inside. The location is also very successful. Great view from the window! In addition - a refrigerator with a cold beer, mineral water and juices - for very reasonable prices! The only small drawback - the window is sometimes a little noisy. However, this did not prevent a good rest.
Hotel is in a great location
The hotel is on the main travel route for cars and drunk visitors. In the middle of the night you get awoken by drunks walking by and being loud.
Friendly personnel. Good location. Close to buses, city center and train station. Room with very nice view.
Simple breakfast served by request. no free wifi. Check-in possible by 9 pm, there is nobody at the desk after 6pm. If you come after 9pm i have no idea what to do (we arrived 8.30 pm).
Close to town centre and to Zugspitze train, walking distance to Olimpia stadion, old fashion style of the building
No free wi-fi what is standard now (you have to pay 1€ per 1h), no possibility to make tea or coffee in the room, no car park on site
The only decent thing was the location.
The staff was very rude and gave us a telling off for showing up at just before 7:00 pm. We were told we needed to be there before 6:00 even though we weren't made aware of this and as such we forfeited breakfast the next morning. We were informed in the morning that we needed to pay for the room at that time even though we were staying another night, also the tax had to be in cash. Even though we paid for the second night we were made to feel so unwelcome we went out and paid for another room for the second night just to be away from there.
Friendly staff, great location,
its in the center of town, so that's a plus
- No parking on site. - Was informed I could go find another hotel if I wanted.. unfortunately that wasn't an option - Internet was 1 Euro per hour, most hotels provide free wifi - bed was more than uncomfortable - No water cooker or way to get coffee without paying for breakfast
I was essentially looking for a clean, good location hotel in Garmisch. This is a "no frills" sort of place, but suited my preferences in terms of a comfortable place to sleep at night after s busy day of hiking and sightseeing, and a good value money-wise.
Paying for the internet: If you book on this website it isn't free.
Location is very good with busstop 2 min walk frm the hotel and city center and restaurants also 5 min walk. The reception lady is nice.
In middle of night suddenly I felt someone is in my bathroom. Then I realized the sound is coming from the next room.
position very central, room was comfortable and balcony
no kettle for hot water
Good location near the center of town. Nice room with a balcony.
A bit noisy in the warm weather with the windows open (traffic noise from the street below)
Noisy location , no fridge, very small antique TV set , They could use a new carpet .
Location is super
Landlord is not very nice, rude in fact. Inconvenient times to check in and no one is ever around to ask questions or get info. We arrived from the train station about 1845 hrs, and the door was closed. A sign said that check in was until 1800. There was a phone number posted to call, and if I did happen to have a German mobile, we would have to find a pay phone. Then, when I called the landlord chewed me out for being outside the check in time, but she was going to buzz the door open. Our room key was inside the room. The next day, she had written a note on our door, that if we didn't check in officially by 1700 hrs, she was going to lock us out. Also, you get a free bus ticket when you stay at any hotel in Garmisch, which she didn't provide. Luckily, the Tourist Information lady told us about it. When we checked in at 1700 (and by the way, I called at 1645, since she was nowhere to be found and she rudely told me to be ready at 1700 and to have 16 Euros ready to pay for 4 days of Tourist Taxes), I asked her about the bus tickets, and she then printed them out for us. We will never stay here again.
The hotel has a lot of old-fashion furniture.
The check-in period is too short. It may be problematic if the traveller miss the check-in period.
could do with coffee/tea making in the room
The location was very good, and easy for walking to shopping, restaurants, clubs, etc. I like the building, and all the beautiful features, but the owner is running the place into the ground!
Owner caters to wealthy Russians. Owner refused to assist when legendary German traffic jams delayed arrival; refused to open door past 9:00 PM; kept yelling “You must read the conditions, you must read the conditions!” Even though the room was prepaid, she still refused to open the door for us at 9:15 PM. No parking nearby. Breakfast must be ordered before 6:00 PM the night before; “It’s in the conditions!” Very small bathroom; some campers have a bigger space. 1 bar of soap, about the size of a postage stamp; the smallest bar you could buy. Electrical wiring frayed and ancient; no fire inspector has looked at this place for many years. No amenities in rooms. Beds are approximately 50 years old, and worn out. You must check out before 10:00 AM, “Don’t you read the conditions?” The gasthaus is very historic and quaint, but rundown. If you like enjoy strict, unsympathetic staff, then this is the place for you.
Location was awesome easy to get to everything by foot, bus, train or driving, very clean, bathroom in room, room with balcony.
The bed was horrible, the double was the American full size & typical that the mattress was worn out so we both kept rolling to the middle, the sheets that the hotel uses felt like sandpaper and I thought I had carpet burn on my body just by sleeping on the sheets.
Very nice and cosy hotel. Will definately go back next time
Location is superb! Can't get much better for nearby amenities...Use this place if you need a base and don't want any pampering...
Rooms were simple, breakfast was not included, but on the other hand, cafes are right down the street!
Great little hotel in the heart of Garmisch. Larissa was the most kind, warm-heart hostess. I definitely would stay here again. Lots of bang for the buck. :)
