Excellent base for exploring the Harz Mountains.
Excellent base for exploring the Harz Mountains. Many trails nearby of varying difficulty. Bus pass included with the local tax so rides around town and between towns were free. Many places to eat/drink. Our favorite was the Biergarten im unteren Badepark. Bad Harzburg is only fifteen minutes by train or bus from Goslar Altstadt.

A curious little town with pretty parks and a pedestrian...
A curious little town with pretty parks and a pedestrian boulevard alongside a river. There are plenty of birds around, including white-throated dippers (Wasseramseln) feeding in the stream, and easy access to restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, and ATM. The town is a starting point for a number of hikes into some very beautiful terrain; recommended particularly is the Luchstour but if you actually want to see a lynx, best to try the Luchsgehege beside the Rabenklippe restaurant (recommend a scrumptious lunch on the balcony with a stunning view).
It's a bit unfortunate that a major trucking artery runs through the town and into the Harzwald; the noise pollution can detract from the overall experience depending on where you are and which way the wind is blowing.
My short stay in Bad Harzburg was made wonderful by this beautiful apartment. It's located within a pleasant walking distance of the centre of town, but far enoguh out to be a quiet and pleasant area. The view of Bad Harzburg is just stunning and I was lucky enough to see some incredible sunsets there. The host was exceptionally friendly and polite, and had some fantastic recommendations for sights around the area. I thoroughly recommend this property. :)
Fantastic hotel up in mountains. Access via cable car - last trip from bottom kl. 18. So, at least when it is dark early, one stays up at hotel until dawn next day. You can walk down the mountain but we had a puppy with us, so this was not an option. Also there was no lighting on path, so impossible to negotiate in dark. Food and staff excellent. Room had balcony overlooking the mountains. We would definately visit again.
Hotel is very old outside, but inside looks much better. Right now there is ongoing renovation.
There is a huge new parking lot near the hotel (10 EUR per day), so we did not even use garage of the hotel.
We were in the building #4 and this was perfect for visiting the pool.
There are few restaurants inside the hotel, which we also can recommend.
Hotel is very good to come with a friends.
The location in Bad Harzburg is great, there are some restaurants outside and a bus stop just a few steps away. Finding a hiking trail to the Brocken from here was very easy even in the winter season. Our room was clean and big. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was good too.
We would probably stay in this or another Regiohotel in the area again.
All the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful.
The room was very comfortable and the bathroom clean and spacious
Breakfasts were plentiful, with a good variety of foods. Bread rolls from the local bakery were delicious
The hotel was perfectly positioned in the centre of the town. Easy walking to restaurants and sites.

The location is perfectly right in the middle of Bad Harzburg. Everything is within walking distance. Was checked in the owner of the place, he was very friendly and gave tips about how can explore the place. He even brought us a kettle to cook hot water to the room. Amazing service!
A beautiful and spacious apartment, very clean. Kithcen well equipped, games for children, toiletteries in the bathroom - very nice! The host texted us to check if everything was ok and was very helpful and kind. Great location close to main street of Bad Harzburg.
The hotel was in a beautiful old building. Covid prevention measures were taken seriously. The buffet breakfast was one of the nicest I've had on holiday in Germany. I was especially pleased that the coffee pot was refilled several times!
Close to the shops, restaurants and 5min walk to some known activities in bad harzburg. The room is big and spacious with a big balcony. The beds are comfortable and good selection of breakfast. Friendly staff.
