we enjoyed staying in the small village and being able to visit the Big city of Heidelberg. We drove up there and found a very nice restaurant on the same street as Haus sonnenhugel ,which had a nice view over the valley. Driving to Heidelberg was very convenient although the roads are pretty small. We also were informed, that we could use the local bus to get to and from Heidelberg. We took our chances in going by car, but there was ample parking in The garages in Heidelberg.
The owner was friendly and helpful.
I was mot aware that credit cards were not accepted, fortunately I had enough cash.
I only stayed here for one night while traveling on, but within this time everything was basically perfect. Nice spacious room (considering I was alone), good bed and good bathroom. I was directly welcomed at arrival and also leaving (paying and leaving the key) was smooth, which is important when traveling on. The breakfast was good and the hostess very friendly.
Just a tip: if you're annoyed by ticking bedside lamps, make sure to switch off the switch on the wall and on the lamp. That solves it. Other than that, no negative experiences for me here!
Most horrible experience ive ever had, the hotel is a 30 minute drive up the mountain, in the middle of nowhere, the room is not clean and i couldnt sleep at night because of mosquitoes, also there is no wifi
The area is marvelous.
Lack of WiFi.
German lady that runs the place is nice enough.
Everything from the carpets to the towels is 30+ years old. Everything looks like it was purchased in the late 1970'S. Sheets weren't clean. Possibly not washed between guests. Room was generally uncomfortable and I could hear the other guests. I had to use ear plugs to sleep. Location is absolutely terrible. There is nothing in the town except 1 gas station, 1 bank, 1 pharmacy, 1 pizza/doner place, etc. Nearby Schriesheim is a far better place to stay if you are staying in this area.
Very quiet. Breakfast is okay. The village is not too fahr away from Heidelberg. (13 km)
The house is at the end of a long, very narrow small road with so many bumps that you feel sorry for your car!
