the room size, plus staff
for an elderly person step in to the bathtap was uncomfortable
Breakfast was great, location is fabulous for shopping and u-bahn.
Smell of cigarett in the room. It was non smoking room..
Bestens aufgehoben! The attention to detail, the cleanliness, the big size of the room, the generous breakfast with the delicious coffee.
We were absolutely satisfied and would highly recommend this hotel!
Excellent room (we had a superior double on top floor) huge room huge bed and massive bathroom. Great breakfast and hotel was just off the main shopping street with lots of restaurants and bars within easy walk.
Excellent location, very clean and comfortable stay for 3 nights. Helpful staff. Excellent value for money
All staff members (exceptions mentioned below) have been very hospitable, helpful, and welcoming; especially the breakfast ladies, seldom we have seen such prudent and nimble as well as friendly personnel in the hotel business. The breakfast buffet offered for sixteen Euros is very varied, abundant and never running out of stock; combined with the lobby, the saloon is well-shaped and fitted for high amenity value… The rooms airy, but cozy even for longer stays, you could feel as if you yourself had designed it for a convenient city dwelling. The location is one of the best when you like to be in the western of the two hearts of Berlin - only a few steps and you are in the midst of the thriving culture, entertainment, shopping, and dining realm of the once adversely encircled "Window of the Free World."
Just two female receptionists weren't really appropriate for the job: all too cool and aloof to feel the guest at home; one of them even had been piqued (and stayed rough for the rest of our sojourn) after being caught giving wrong advice to an inquiry we’d asked her to manage for us... Windows facing the street aren’t as soundproof as expected; sometimes the nightly noises of revellers, outdoor restaurant smokers and/or brawlers are quite disturbing - so if you would like to sleep peacefully I’d suggest to ask for a room looking to the backyard…
Location and room
No kettle for coffee/ tea in room There was a cigarette butt on the floor in room when we arrived. The duvet was blood stained underneath the clean white cover
The location . The staff. The breakfast buffet.
We had problems due to the train strike. Christopher was amazing and helped us make air bookings...we were so grateful. excellent service.
We we're put in a smoking room. If hotel had been full would have had to leave. Dreadful. Then put in a room at the front got no sleep at all due to club over the road open all night. Shouting and laughing while they endlessly smoked on the pavement. Apparently druggy too. Breakfast far to expensive. Unhelpful staff no one came to ask what we would like to drink. I found a girl one day and asked for tea and she said what is that! Reception some staff great others thought they were doing us a favour. Did not like complaints. No soap or shampoo in bathroom only a dispenser if in the bath it was difficult as it was too far away. Queen room a good size. Would not go again.
Everything except Wifi.
Wifi was weak and slow
The room was big, although rather blandly decorated. Very little noise at back of hotel, so good night's sleep.
My wife left a telephone message at reception for me and it was not passed on. It's a long story, but not getting the message caused me a lot of inconvenience and concern. When I mentioned it at reception they had no record of the message and the lady at the desk had a poor attitude towards their mistake. Made me feel like I was in the wrong for pointing it out.
Deluxe Rooms with balcony staff restaurant next door
Salsa Dance Club across the street when we didn't feel like dancing until the sun came up
The size of the room and the location are the clear plus. Add to this the nice bathroom, the walk-in closet and the free wi-fi.
The room furniture was rather simple and the double curtains a bit thin to keep the morning light out.
rooms looks older then on the pictures... poor wi-fi connection in the room.
The early check in, a huge room with an enormous dressing room, a very comfortable bed.
Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Really good breakfast. Bedroom good and bathroom excellent. We were in the modern extension.
Only one fault. The hair dryer was very heavy to handle!
The young man at the front desk was extremely helpful. He promptly came up to our room twice when we first arrived to help us with various things. Then arranged for an ironing board and iron to be delivered to our room for our entire stay. The morning we left the English newspaper hadn't been delivered yet and he offered to go out to buy one for us! The Italian restaurant attached had excellent food and beautiful decor.
Location, friendly staff, clean hotel
Great internet pricing, helpful staff, close to transportation and restaurants. Nice neighborhood
Room had kitchen noise til about 22:00. And was warm.
Comfortable room Clean bathroom Friendly staff especially breakfast hostess(Anja ?) Yummy breakfast Helpful reception
Perhaps reception could be a bit warmer/friendlier to older travellers - a smile doesn't hurt.
Everything was great - I would definitely use Hecker's again.
Friendly staff, really close to the subway, Huge and luxurious Bathroom (half the size of an already big room, i mean the Bathroom alone was the size of a room in Paris for exemple), high speed internet.
Old and poor looking furniture (and i stayed in the "new section" of the Hotel) , pictures in the description are from the 3 suites they have and have nothing in common with how the "normal" rooms actually look like.
excellent localisation - close to bus,u-bahn and shopping area, spacious room, very friendly stuff, good quality/price ratio
noisy surroundings in the night, relatively expensive breakfast, old and little worn furniture in room
