Open the door for balcony and see the castle!

Family run, with obvious pride of ownership. Very good restaurant. Our room had a direct view of the Neuschwanstein castle. Plenty of free parking. Quiet area at night, unlike Fussen.

Nothing.

Location was great, 2 miles from castles and a short walk to a swimming pool spa that was fun. Breakfast buffet was awesome and free internet in the room was appreciated.

Room furniture was a bit outdated, but still a nice cozy feel. Wish they had 1 international plug or adapter in the room.

Where do I begin? The room was astounding. The size of the space, the number of power outlets, the sofa, the balcony with a wonderful view. While I can't directly credit Helmerhof with control over the weather...a fresh layer of snow had fallen the day I arrived which lead to a truly idyllic winter-wonderland feel about the place as well. The buffet breakfast was great. Not too large of a room nor was it crowded. The German faire was also all freshly made and you did not get the sense that it was coming out of a commercial restaurant/kitchen. It seemed like a breakfast I would make for myself at home (i.e. truly home made). The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful as well. I only regret that I was on a tight in and out schedule there and did not get to sample the full restaurant for dinner nor the spa facilities downstars, but that's a reason to go back right?

Very friendly, clean with a charming tyrolean atmosphere. The restaurant served very good food and the staff was helpful. We had a beautiful view of the mountains and the Neuschwanstein Castle (which was under construction).

We stayed both in Helmerhof and Rubenzahl. Helmerhof was great for just 87 euros. We went for a mountain view room and had a balcony with wonderful view of the hills and castle. The restaurant was great and very busy/. The breakfast was excellent.

a beautiful place in a quiet village location. very welcoming. nicely made room with duvet formed as a heart with flowers. made us immediately feel at home. restaurant had good local food and staff was very helpful in arranging a table, even we didn't book and restaurant was very busy. location is great with mountain view, village feeling and very close to the neuschwanstein castle (5min drive).

Good value for money. The rooms are nice and comfortable, the food is good, and it's close to Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau.

The waiters can be more friendly. Having visited several restaurants and hotels, I can say that the quality of service is generally poor in the region, so this is not a criticism of Helmerhof in particular.

Very quiet place, to see both Hohenschwangau und Neuschwanstein from hotel area. Easy approach to Hohenschwangau&Neuschwanstein and Fussen town as well.

Of our 5 weeks in Europe, Schwangau was our favorite. This family run hotel brought a Barvarian charm that was further exemplified by the courteuos staff. Our room was perfect, the food was 5 star and the staff was hard working and professional. The hotel was close to town and close to the castles. Nice and quiet at night with wonderful views day and night. We loved this place and will be back... For a longer stay. We have had several friends rcommend this town and it far exceeded our expectations. This Hotel is Schwangua's best kept secret.

We stayed at Helmerhof while traveling from Denmark to Italy. The Hotel was chosen because is near to the castle Neuschwanstein, and based on that the location was fine. We had a very nice apartment with separate bedroom and 2 separate bathrooms and a little kitchen (that we didn't use though). Everything was clean and the interior was well functioning. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant, the food was nice and prices fair.

The hotel was in a great location. We had three rooms, one of which had a view of Neuschwanstein. The beds were as comfortable as I've found in a European hotel. The dinner in the restaurant was outstanding. The rooms were a good size, and the shower was very nice. They provided us with the toiletries you would normally find in a more expensive hotel. They have free parking, which is a big plus for me. Breakfast was good.

There is no AC in the rooms. Our double room was fine, because we were on the 2nd floor (in American terms), so we could leave our window/door open to our porch. The two single rooms were on the ground floor, and so they didn't want to leave the outside door open. They got pretty sweaty, especially since there was a rain storm which made it very humid. Since they are in the country, there isn't a whole lot of choice for food, unless you want to drive elsewhere. While the restaurant was delicious, it wasn't for the budget traveler. Check out doesn't start until 7:30, and breakfast doesn't start until 7:45, which makes it difficult if you want to get to the castle ticket office first thing in the morning. They also had difficulty with one of our American credit cards. So, you need to have more than one option for payment, just in case your first choice doesn't work.

It is near to the castles.

The location is excellent if planning to visit the castles or alpine skiing in this region.

There is no workout facility and the beds in our room were pretty uncomfortable since the matress is very thin.

Fremragende beliggenhed i forhold til Neuschwanstein. Vi havde balkon med skøn udsigt til bjerge og Neuschwanstein. Gode parkeringsforhold.

Beaucoup de charme pour ce petit htl de campagne. Tout près des châteaux Neuschwanstein et HOheschwangau. Très bonne cuisine.

L.accueil a été trés attentif malgré notre arrivée très tardive,les chambres sont agreables et confortables,

при отеле действует ресторан, есть меню на русском. в ресторане очень хорошо готовят, столики часто нужно заказывать заранее. мы обычно приходили с замков, заказывали столик, и через часик спускались к ужину. пешком до замков далековато, идти минут 30. однако по пути можно наслаждаться видами, и дорога не будет столь утомительной. жили в номере 47, в котором, как кто-то уже писал, был балкон с превосходным видом на нойшванштайн. так что рекомендую.

с интернетом в отеле беда. wi-fi вроде есть, но к нему либо не подключиться, либо в интернет выйти нельзя все равно. персонал о проблеме знает, но никаких стремлений исправить ситуацию не заметили. интернет не являлся для меня основополагающим аспектом, поэтому оценки отелю сильно не занижал. подушки на любителя, лично мне не понравились. завтраки скудные, лучше приходить сразу, яичницу быстро сметают. а кроме нее есть там нечего. ну, бутерброды, йогурты еще...
