Score from 226 reviews Wonderful
Prime location and it's close to the train station.
No bathrobe in the room. Need to pay a fee to borrow one. No shower cap in the room.
the location and the privacy of the hotel . you feel like home.ilike the idea of not passing through recepition when you are going or coming to your room.
ididnt like the shower room.there is no door on it.
You're just a few hundred meters from the central station so getting to and from the airport is a breeze. The U bahn is at the end of the street and the area of St Georg with it's great places to eat is five mins walk away. The hotel is small, trendy and boutique in style with much made of the illusive 'Henri' as in Henri's Bar and Henri's Gym.... but who is Henri? Well maybe that up to you to find out! The Mad Men style 1950's decor gives the place a touch of glamour including retro style phones in the rooms and funky wallpaper which did bring a smaile to my face. The rooms are decent in size. My L-Studio (second largest in size) was a decent 30 square meters and the walk in shower worked a treat. The breakfast at 14 euros was pretty good. This isn't a full service hotel with lots going on, it's a small boutique style property thats perfect for those wanting somewhere cosy with a quirky twist.
The beds were great but the pillows were those ridiculously soft german style feather ones that even putting two together didn't offer any kind of support. Sadly no other varieties were on offer. The duvet was much heavier than what you would normally find in german hotels and proved to be too warm to use in August. It would have been nice to see more fresh fruit at breakfast. Instead a bowl of fruit salad which was more apple than anything else was all that was provided. The gym isn't really that. It's a small fitness room with three cardio machines and a multi use weights machine. Even as an experienced gym user I had no idea how to operate the weights machine and there weren't any instructions provided. When the hotel is full the breakfast room can become very busy and difficult to find a table.
Often availability of free fruit, dips etc. The 5 euro evening "snacks" (= light meals) Great breakfasts (14 euro /adult) Excellent value "help yourself" bar / snacks WAY better than the usual mini bars Nice rooms / plenty of room 12:00 check-out time The homely feel of the bar / lounge Location
Noisy outside early mornings with construction work and "stuff" One elevator only; can get busy at times (not too big a deal though :-)
Perfect location, very nice interior retro design, quality breakfast, very nice and helpful personnel.
Bedding from real feathers not everyone taste (I found hard to sleep under it). A bit of expensive accomodation and breakfast.
location and room design
have to connect to wifi manually each time
Everything are perfect!!! Very friendly staff!!! Thanks a lot!!!
Awesome Hotel. Just love it. Ride in the middle of the city.
The location of this hotel couldn't be better. It is right in the center of town, yet, the area surrounding us was quiet. Also, having access to a washer and dryer 24/7 was very practical. All in all, it was a wonderful place to stay and we plan to return every time we visit Hamburg.
The hotel hallways and elevator area are not air conditioned. If you are there during a hot month (we were there in July) this is somewhat irritating because you are sweating before you even leave the hotel grounds. The gym too wasn't air conditioned, so working out was torturous. The hotel AC is automatically reset to 23 degrees Celsius every morning at a specific time (around 10:00 am). So, if you want to sleep in and prefer a cool room, be prepared to get up and have to call the staff to set the AC system so you can once again control the temperature from your room. As an American raised in Germany, I already suspected that there might be some issues with the AC (Germans are generally not big fans of air conditioning). Needless to say, I called the hotel before arriving just to make sure the AC could, in fact, be controlled form our room. Despite having been reassured that we would be able to determine our own room temperature, I still had to call every morning for about 4 days before they finally got the point and stopped resetting our temperature to 23. I must say, though, that through out all this the staff was very friendly.

Warm accommodations. Very comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location, close to Central Station.
We liked it all!!
We liked the cool retro decor, the friendly helpful staff, the buzzing atmosphere, the cocktails, the location.
It would have been better if there had been a restaurant at the hotel
Town center and calm
Location is super, close to subway, shops, train station , department stores, alster,Rathaus etc. Decoration and ambiance is unique, especially for the ones who are bored by hotel routines. Nice and helpfull staff.
The quilt which felt like too much syntethic to me.
The hotel is well situated in the city. It's within walking distance to the train station and close the metro station, so you can easily get around the city. It's a great place to stay for a weekend exploring Hamburg. I also loved the room decor; it was very cool and retro.
My friend and I booked a room with two singles, but we were given a room with only a double. The hotel staff were apologetic, but could not accommodate our request. The standard room comes with a sink and shower area with no door. This creates a lack of privacy, which may be a problem if you are travelling with friends or colleagues you don't know very well. Also, without a door to the shower, the shower is very loud.
The location and the breakfast buffet was really good. Also the decor in the hotel was untraditional which was a major plus.
I loved the entire concept of the hotel! Also, the location was perfect for a weekend city trip. I will definitely come back again and recommend your hotel to my friends.
Small, small, small suggestion is to check the kitchen ventilation system. From my room on the second floor (207) there was an overwhelming smell of cooking beacon each morning. With the windows open it was a very unpleasant 6:00am wake up call each morning.
