This hotel offers attractive rooms and suites in central Mainz. It is around a 10 minute walk from the main train station and one mile from the Altstadt (Old Town).
Score from 472 reviews Good
Located in the heart of Mainz, capital of Germany’s Rhineland-Palatinate state, our attractive mid-range hotel offers direct access to the adjoining pedestrian areas.
Score from 445 reviews Good
This modern, 4-star hotel is just 165 yards from Mainz Central Train Station. It offers soundproofed rooms, varied breakfast buffets, and free public transportation passes for Mainz and Wiesbaden.
Score from 614 reviews Very good
This 4-star hotel is quietly in the historic center of the city of Mainz. It offers an international restaurant with courtyard terrace, high-speed Wi-Fi, and soundproof rooms with spacious work areas....
Score from 478 reviews Very good
We liked everything.
Parking available, restaurant, next to the river.
Waiting period to get back preauthorization money, more than two weeks is totaly unacceptable!
Very comfortable stay as a solo traveller. Good view of the city. There was Ceylon tea in the bedroom, marvellous! I like the speaker in bathroom, so I could hear the TV anywhere in the entire hotel room.
One of the mug was dirty (as a tea cup not washed and left to dry). It's a small mistake as the mugs were covered with a paper lid, but not expected in a hotel like Hilton.
Minibar was dirty Had old food of previous guest Carpet had stains
Great location, good size rooms and bathrooms and comfortable and warm. Good selection of TV channels.
Paid WiFi was quite expensive. Hotel rooms quite spread out and not always good signage for reception areas. My card didn't work sometimes in the door.
location was good
the room wasn't 100% clean (sticky nighttable), the shower only pointed at the wall, you couldn't actually stand under the water, the wifi should be free, the breakfast was over priced (we walked into town for a 5 euro breakfast vs. 30 euros in the hotel), the credit card machine refused my card while I was able to use my card elsewhere in the city, an hour later the machine worked at the hotel but the staff did not apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Location, food, friendly staff.
Just incredible to pay close to 200 euros a night for a normal room and not having wifi included - this is 2014. In normal circumstances I wouldn't have cared since I was on a business trip and didn't pay myself - but to make matters worse, the paid wifi was not good either. Dropouts from time to time, very shaky performance regardless of unit (laptop/phone/ipad), failed completely at times. Made me cancel several critical tasks on two of the evenings. To top that off, the only option was to buy wifi for 24 hours - even if I only needed it 2-3 hours every evening. When I got back after a day with my client, I then had to buy a new wifi for 20 euros again, since time was counting even though I didn't use it! Summary: nice hotel, but extremely frustrating during my stay. Can't and won't choose it ever again for business purposes.
The Bed, most comfortable bed I have slept in for a long time.
The distance from reception to my room
The bed was comfortable, and the view from the room was nice.
The parking garage does not belong to the hotel but when checking out we were asked if we wanting to pay for parking at the desk instead of in the garage. We paid them went and ate breakfast. Because of he additional time we took to eat breakfast the parking ticket was expired and we had to pay more money again to the machine in the parking garage. The front desk should have let us know this before asking us to pay at the desk. One of the non smoking rooms we were in smelled of cigarette smoke.
-Spacious, comfortable room (with river views) -Extremely helpful staff -Very good on-site restaurant -Immediately adjacent to convention center (Rheingold Halle)
Cost of in-room wi-fi seemed very high (but there is free wi-fi in the lobby)

Can't think of anything!
The staff was friendly and helpful. They helped me to Switch out of the Hotel and were accomodating Overall.
The fact that they charged 25 euros for Internet and 40 euros for a mediocre breakfast and much more for a small mediocre room than it should have been.
Beautifully located on the River Rhine, this hotel has it all. The staff were delightful in the restaurant and made my young grandson feel like a special guest.
Upon our early arrival the desk agent wasn't as proactive in getting us checked in. I approached Agent Benjamin was extraordinary at getting us checked in to a quite room. He made our stay memorable.
Both Booking.com and Hotel gave us a lot of headache. Once at reservation, when we needed 2 of the 5 rooms to be reserved one day earlier. Web site did not allow, and customer service of both asked for $70 extra/night/room. Then one person could not travel due to back injury and despite promises, we were still charged with the room we did not occupy. Other bookings and hotels did much better job in the 6 hotels we stayed during our vacation in Europe.
The staff of the hotel are very very helpfull
The room must have fee wifi like any other hotels in the country, this will reduce crowd at the lobby.
Facilities are excellent.
The price of the WiFi.
Cost of internet access in rooms is ridiculously expensive for a hotel catering to a lot of business customers. As is the cost of breakfast - most expensive bowl of cereals I have ever had. And the 300m walk (I measured it) to my hotel room was unexpected having paid (I thought) for a riverside view.
