We loved the quaint design of the hotel, with all different rooms having a theme from around the world. The furnishings were very nice with an artistic feel. If we had come to shop, this would have been a primo location. It's really a lovely hotel, and the German restaurant is charming as well. Parking for the hotel is off-site. Booking.com definitely needs to include parking recommendations. We drove around for an hour with the gps telling us to turn where there are no roads! Also, the website states check-in "from 14:00 hours." Do not mistake this to mean you can check-in at 14:00 hours. We arrived at 14:00 and were told to return in an hour. We returned at 15:00 and were told to return in 20 minutes. We returned at 16:00, and were told to return in 15 minutes. Although they offered us complimentary beverages while we waited for our room to become available, we were in town for an event, and were needing to freshen up at the hotel beforehand. That was very inconvenient.

Liked the bathrooms, clean and comfortably sized. Bed was comfy and our room, the Zermatt room was cozy. The location was great too, just outside he door there is a lot to see and do, People working there were nice to us and our kids. Difficult to find with a car. Breakfast was too expensive, I though we were getting a great rate through booking.com but it turned out to be the regular rate.

Booked one night initially at the Hip Hotel and three more after arrival. Hadn't visited the city before so I wasn't sure about the hotel location, which was on the main shopping street Haustrasse and ideal. Staff were very friendly and helpful (in particular Monika) and at the checkin they had very good English. I stayed in the room themed on Rome. It was large and clean. The bed was comfortable and room features worked very well - heating, shower, TV, internet connection etc. All in all I would stay again and definitely recommend.

very cosy hotel with well equipped and originally furnished rooms. Good restaurant and very well situated in the center of old Heidelberg. On top of that reasonably priced. What more do you need ?

Excellent location Parking is a 10 minutes walk (P11) and is 12,50 per day. We had the Wein (Vienna) room and everyone seemed really old....might be the design intention, but nonetheless did not feel like a modern interpretation of Vienna.

The staff were very welcoming, and the location is excellent, its perfect for visiting the Christmas markets, which is why I was there. I emailed and asked for a twin room, which was confirmed by the hotel very quickly. We stayed in the 'down-under' room, in which everything was upside down. While this certainly had the novelty factor, it did mean that there was literally nowhere to put anything! The safe wasn't working and required two trips from reception to get it sorted. The 'twin' beds came out from the wall and were very creaky and very close together!

Awesome location, right in the middle of the Hauptstrasse. Things could be made a little business traveller friendly - wireless internet and an iron box in the room would be appreciated.

The location was great and the rooms were spacious and interesting. The staff was helpful and the building was very clean. Overall, the hotel offered a good value for the cost. The only downside was the loud noise that could be heard from the nightclub next door!

We enjoyed our stay at the Hip Hotel Heidelberg, it's location was perfect in the middle of a very busy main street full of wonderful shops. The room was very comfortable and the themed rooms a great idea. The Amsterdam room was quiet, even on a Saturday night and fitted out for disabled people but still charming The cold water tap on the had basin was very slow.

Without hesitation, my best hotel during my Europe for 20 day tour is Hip Hotel. Hotel staff gave us the most awesome room is Heidelberg room. I am a mother of two sons, 12and 17 years old. I enjoyed taking a backpack train tour, but the Hip hotel made our trip more luxurious tour.

it's always a joy to stay at the hip hotel, and you're never bored, even if you have slept in every room. After our late arrival, the hotel staff still offered us a complimentary beer and some snacks, although the bar/restaurant closed already.

Great rooms based on different cities around the world which was really good fun. Great location in the city centre, old town. Very close to the Christmas market which was the reason we were there. Loved Heidelberg - v.pretty. Restaurant had very few options for veggies, or for people who aren't red meat eaters. So we ate elsewhere.
