Normally using booking.com I mange to pick a good hotel but we were disappointed here and would have changed to another if there had been rooms available elsewhere. It just didn't have a welcoming feel to it and felt more like a stark bed and breakfast facility.
This hotel didn't feel homely at all. Staying for 5 nights just after Christmas, the hotel was bereft of any Christmas decorations or festive cheer which was disappointing for a family. After arriving at 4pm the owner promptly locked the hotel and left. No facilities at all for guests except an ancient vending machine. The room with sofa bed was warm but charmless and felt very grey. Breakfast was average. OK for 1 or 2 nights but not longer. Don't forget your toiletries either.
Would like to thank Mandy for her hospitality. She upgraded us to a 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen, TV room and a bathroom as big as dance floor. We enjoyed the breakfast spread and wish we could stay for a few more days!
The space in the rooms. The cleanness & order in the hotel. Distribution of rooms. Luxurious towels. Multilingual (spanish, english, etc.)
Breakfast wasn't generous. I don't think paying 10 euros worth it.
It was really disappointing. Very low level for the price of the room! Can't understand people who feel satisfied in this depressing tiny lodging. Photos and comments misleading.
Location, far from the city. Rooms no better than a cheap hostel. Old towels. Poor breakfast.
Excellent customer service. Very clean. High standards and attention to detail. Breakfast of high quality, very generous and very well presented. Highly recommended.
We felt so comfortable and at home! The staff was great and we loved the location and really want to go back for another visit!
Clean room Quiet Nice breakfast
Homey Good beds Reasonable breakfast Easy access to the higheway Good location for tours in the black forest, Alsace and to Europa Park
Rooms on the2nd floor have a tilted ceiling Shower curtain old and stained
Great hotel for breaking the journey when travelling South. Clean, tidy and well-priced. Much better than the hotels that are just a little cheaper. Lovely breakfast. Pleasant and helpful staff. Will try to stay here again.
gute Betten, geräumig, sauber, ruhig
no italian coffee
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean. Breakfast was great and was included in the price. Parking was included as well. The tram to the center of town was only a few minutes walk away.
Neat and clean rooms, quiet district, good breakfast; staff is very friendly (but English skills are not so good); late check-in is possible
Stuff almost doesn't speak English
Good room and facilities. Good breakfast Good parking Great to have a lift No restaurant - but a Hotel next door, whose restaurant was closed recommended another along the road. One of our best meals, we encountered on our three week tour and brilliant price.
On arrival, first impression, the Hotel looked a little 'tired' on the outside and in need of some 'tlc'. Staff did not appear over friendly, but were polite and helpful.
Close to the city of Frieburg with bus just down the street. Very quiet and quaint type of bed and breakfast hotel. Parking on site (free) with secure access. Rooms very quiet and quite spacious. Breakfast in the morning was great to start the day.
Staff helpful but not the friendliest during our 13 day trip. Checkout had to pay cash as credit machine wasn't working.
Convenient location, nice quiet neighborhood, friendly staff, good value.
The people were very nice.
The room was clean and had everything we needed. Our room had a balcony that overlooked a laneway, it was quiet at night and nice to sit outside with a glass of wine. Loved that wine and beer was available at the end of the hallway after a long day! Easy enough to walk to the tram which was just a few stops to the old town. Free parking on site and off the road was of great benefit for us. Free wifi worked well in our room. Breakfast was one of the best - a good range and lovely fresh fruit
The staff were efficient but not particularly friendly or helpful. I heard no more than two sentences from the staff in our time there, which isn't characteristic of our other German stays. The bathroom has a problem with damp and ventilation (it smelled strongly and was always humid). The hotel is a bit soulless an lacking charm, but if it is efficiency and value for money that you are after, it surely does the trick.
Close to highway. Low price.
Hotel signage was poor and made it unnecessarily hard to find. The building contained 2 hotels. The most visible sign was on the side but was for the other hotel in the building.
No chairs to sit on comfortably and nothing to prop behind you for sitting on bed. So very uncomfortable evening
meal at hotel a couple of doors away
receptionist was rather brash
Rooms were quiet and nicely presented
No coffee/tea making facilities Long walk to tram for my mother who finds walking distances difficult
Large spacious room for three adults + seating too. Very comfortable beds
The room was very comfortable and clean. There was a nice buffet breakfast with good variety. There was a free carpark. It was just a 15 minute drive to the cable car.
We stayed during the off season and it was hard to find someone to check in when we arrived
Staff, breakfast, location, cleanliness.
Peaceful. Close to public transport. It is also convenient for traveling by car.
The room has no fridge. The district has nothing to do. No supermarket to buy food. Breakfast is pretty meager. Pillows are thin and worn, but were varied at our request. Need luck to eat in the evening, as all three restaurants nearby are filled to full capacity.
