Hotel Hirth  

Hotel Hirth is cozy and has a spectacular view of the mountains. It's close to Garmish and plenty of tourist sites. There is a walking path across the street for leisurely even strolls. The hotel serves very yummy regional foods, but be sure to check with the hotel prior to booking if you expect to eat there. During off season or low booking time frames they may close the kitchen and you'll need to travel into town for food in the evening. On the flip side, the breakfast spread is an ample and tasty German standard bread, eggs, jams, sweat breads, coffee/tea and juice.

We were there on a weekend when the kitchen was closed, which is a bummer because we really enjoyed the dinner foods the time prior. In the evenings the family is hard to locate, so if you would like a fire or a drink at the bar be sure to let them know in the morning or afternoon. The decor is older, but the rooms are cozy. In the two different rooms we've stayed in there are no rolanden or blinds, so be prepared to wake up with the sun. The mattress was comfortable, the water was hot and my husband and I were happy with the room. It's just best to realize this is a family run, older establishments with affordable rates. It's charming and lovely, but intended for people who are going to be out and about for most of the day.

The staff was very accommodating. I needed breakfast at 7AM and it was provided cheerfully and on time.

The staff was incredibly friendly and offered excellent advice for activities in the area. The location, at the foot of the Zugspitze, offers a "postcard" view. I've stayed at the Hotel Hirth once before, and I'm certain I'll stay again someday (hopefully soon!).

Gracious, friendly, accomodating hostess; speaks excellent English. Comfortable guesthouse fits nicely into the mountain setting of Grainau. Many comfortable home touches in the large former private residence. Dog friendly. Close to skiing and Garmisch action. Excellent food.

All OK. If you desire a "all new modern up to date " place, this is not for you. It is a traditional place, well loved and lived in.

Άριστη φιλοξενεία, νιώσαμε σαν στο σπίτι μας! Η Ρεγγίνα και η οικογένεια της μας εξυπηρετήσαν σε ότι και να ζητήσαμε! Πολύ καλό πρωινό και υπέροχο φαγητό ( και οικονομικό! ). Πολύ κοντά στο χιονοδρομικό!

Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Ideale Lage zum Wintersport.
