History Hostel "Small Room Small Price"  

Friendly staff, good breakfast,

It was very cold, I think they did not use the heater, we had outside 0 degrees celsius

- price - location (close to Potsdamerplatz, Checkpoint Charlie, Holocaust Memorial etc)

- Internet wouldn't work in room 9b - staff was very unpleasant - women's toilets were disgusting and unusable (men's ok)

- dirty, green light on the toilets - red light in the room, gives you a brothel like feeling - we came home one night and found 2 girls and showed them the way and found a note on the front door (as there is nobody at late) that said the girls have to pay 20€ for coming late - it's not worth staying there, I regretted not spending a bit more

Nothing after the good location. The cleaner woman is very nice but don't speak English. I like her and understand the reason she's there and she's not responsible... she does a hard job to try make the place look usable.

Dont go to this place! 1 - There are a lot of issues and after this experience I believe in all reviews. 2 - During my stay the owner kicked a guest and the police went to solve the problem. I dont know the reasons of the fight but I never have seen someone so rude in my life as this staff/owner as... 3- The owner of the site only calmed down and began to respect the guests after the departure of the police. I saw these policemen inspecting the entire hostel and threatened the owner because he was wrong. 4- I paid and stayed at the hostel. One day after I left i received a email from booking.com saying I didn't stay and should pay for the cancellation. The owner doesn't have a good records and doesn't know how manage the place, times and room availability. The booking.com already solved my problem and offered me the apologies. 5- I paid for 4-bed shared room.. In the first 2 days I stayed in a "room" sleeping with the mattress on the floor (NO BED) and after the 2 last days I needed share a room with 5 people.

The guy at the reception was so unprofessional and rude. I don't think I've met anyone worse in my life. Which receptionist constantly keeps suggesting that we take a different hostel than his own? This guy singlehandedly managed to make the stay most uncomfortable. I don't even want to start talking about the cleanliness of the toilets (they didn't even have lights) and the comfort of the mattresses.

Nothing. Really bad. I´d rather have paid more and have the minimum.

1. They did not have the rooms according to our reservation. They changed at the time we arrived. 2. Payment with credit card had an additional of 10% 3. Cleaning is a word totally unkown by the hostel. 4. Heating was not working!!!! Berlin was -4oC 5. I needed to talk to somebody at the front desk and there was a guy only after 1PM and 10PM he´s gone. 6. I want to see my review published so that others can be alert.

Good location

- Stuff was very rude. My reservation was automatically printed out from booking.com in Russian but name and all remarks were made in English. This had never been problem in any hostel before. In this hostel the receptionist didn't want to accept the reservation telling "it's not in my language". - the reception was open 2 hours later than was stated on the doors and we had to wait in a cafe nearby with our luggage for doors to be open and to be checked-in, for sure there was no excuse made for that from the part of the reception. - normally included services (blankets, etc.) were for additional price which made it more expensive. - rooms look completely different from the pictures provided on the webpage and the whole hostel looks like under reconstruction with cables hanging from the ceiling, have no idea if under safety rules anyone can stay in such place. - no normal kitchen. wouldn't recommend this place to anybody.

I must say that I have been to really lots og hostels across many european countries. This hostel without a doubt had been the most terrible hostel experience in my whole life. Firsty the hostel is not finished, I can't understand why it can be offered to abybody. Secondly there is actually no kitchen. Because kitchen is actually a place where a washbasin is, isn't? So there is no washbasin, and no equipment. But there is a fridge! How great, but you can use it only till 10 p.m. After that 'kitchen' is closed. Staff: The guys at the reception are very rude. Especially the guy from Russia (maybe from Belarus or Ukraine - I don't care actually cause I like these countries very much, i want to just describe him). He is shouting at the guests. I saw him shouting at the spanish girls because they wanted to check in after 10 p.m: 'get out!' (checking in after 10 p.m. is not allowed in the hostel).

there was no noise

- came home late night and found some unknown persons in our beds (the keys fit for some other rooms!!!) - two times we were disturbed by receptionist while sleeping (he crashed in our room without warning) - came home another day with puddle of water in our room (leckage from ceiling) we had to wipe up - no excuses/compensation for puddle and unknown persons in our beds!!!

location is good, easy to find and get there. looks not so bad. have wifi in the rooms and pc with access.

have no facilities in the kitchen, no plates, cups etc. just nothing! no sockets in the room! dark WC! awful pillows, quite cold in the room.

The only positive thing was nice cleaning lady.

No light in the ladies WC during all stay. Hostel's administrator was the worst admin I've ever seen. When we complained about loud music during the night from a lot of rooms, he said - It's our own fault that we choose so cheap place - so for this price we have to deal with it and he was not willing to help AT ALL. And after this next evening (around 9-10 pm) we were watching some movie on I-pad (that can't be very loud) and the admin came to our room and said we have to keep it quiet. :))) Seriously?? Other thing - few times while going to showers we found the administrator in there, so after that when going to showers we were afraid that he could come in. We would NEVER EVER suggest this hotel to anyone!!!

the staff of this hostel wasn't really nice to their customers. The amount of money paid for the stay doesn't really worth it

Well, of course the price is "small". But the services are not even worth the small price. Because to the 25€ flat price we paid we had to add 7€ for bedlinen, 4€ for luggage deposit and 10% more for credit card payment. All summed, 39€ for one night in double room. The same prices you could have in a way more decent hostel in the area. Plus, the staff is rude, the room are dirty, so are so toilets and the shower is not drained. Not worth the price.

The walls were so thin i got a free porno experience.

The rooms were clean enough but the toilets were awful and there was no light.

Beware! I was 3 days in this hostel and paid in cash. I canceled next reservation in this hostel. Free cancellation don't work! My credit card was charged!

The worst experience in my life. Receptionist was so rude. Rooms are incredibly dirt. So much noise you cannot sleep.

Hotel staff is awful, very rude.

I liked its location. You can also reach the "berlin mitte" on foot in only fifteen minutes!! I also liked the small room. It didn't so that beauty ( one single bed, one table and lockers) but it was perfectly functional for my needs. I recommend it for those people who want to visit that beauty city, as Berlin is, but that don't want to spend much money for a place where only sleep in. Keep your money for entertainments, sights, food and shopping!

The Hostel gets cleaned periodically and the service personal is realy relaxed. All in all it is just a good atmosphere. A place to recommand.
