I will never come back to this hotel! I don't recommend!
Where the Hotel was!
Accesswhen arriving where you have problems getting in by either using a doorbell which dos'nt always ring or a phone number. Booking one room then when getting there being told the room was a small not standard room as booked and in the Attic and advised to have what was sold a a large double on 2nd floor where there was a twin used not being used when we arrived?.Told if we wanted to contact man running Hotel! to ring number on sheet we were given. No Room service ie cleaning of en suite, towel change beds made etc in fact they never entered our room in the 3 days we were there. This was basic and not as sold on there web site Querky but not very nice. Carpet runners in Hall way rolled up very unsafe.Breakfast okay but nothing to write home about in fact on last morning the women doing breakfast had to go out and buy alot of it at local Lidl. Foot Ferry dos'nt work after 30th Nov . Sorry to say not a good start to our holiday and we would not stay there again.
The location of the Kulturhotel was great to get access to the fort and the old city. It was beautiful next to the river - with easy access to the ferry as well.
with the ferry across the Rhine walking to the Center. Carparking close by very cheap.
small staircases, difficult with bags and dog. Owner was difficult to locate and not very friendly, rooms very dated. Breakfest included, but dog not allowed which made it difficult to have breakfest.
very eclectic but I liked the old world style of this hotel very friendly not so much to do in the area on a Monday when I stayed but ok
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The building had a lot of character. There was great wifi connection. Very close to the ferry. Although we weren't able to sleep well other people may really enjoy the character of this place. I would stay here again.
Due to the age of the place it was creaky and made a lot of noise when we walked in the room or other guests walked by our room. Additionally the beds were creaky which woke us up throughout the night if we moved at all.
Shower room is ok, although the sink leaks.
Everything... First, we were misled by Google maps that it's just minutes walk across the river but actually the direct route was a ferry that costs 2 euros each way and it's not available after 6pm. the hotel is not r a hotel as there's virtually no reception, very disorganised, the lady handling it is not on top of things. The breakfast is extremely limited and poor. The room has horrible carpets, wall, and extremely dated and dark. You can only pay cash for the hotel too, which is not convenient. Definitely NOT a cosy family run hotel.
All facilities and Old Fashion design.
30 minutes walking from down town. There is no boat to cross the river after 5pm.
For a budget hotel we thought this hotel was fantastic. Good breakfast, friendly greeting when we arrived and somewhere secure to store our bicycles.
Late check in and awkward stairs
Decoration Breakfast Price
Beds and wooden floor quite noisy
We didn't stay at this hotel, even though we prepaid, we forfeited the money and stayed somewhere else
Book in was 6pm, they stated there was parking, but this was at a local supermarket
Going across the river in an old ferry was great. Parking is easy to find and cheap. The house is full of character.
The late check in.
Warm friendly WELCOME even at midnight due to our hold up on the Motorway. Very quirky and interesting in the Dinning Room. Ongoing renovation without interruptions. Thanks Albert & Diane
No TV in room, but this is why we sleept better
Altgough its written all rooms with WC they don't have shower in every room
The stuff and the breakfast is awfully nice
The room is a little bit tiny
last minute late booking.
no lift, staff had gone home early an hour before quoted check in period finished. trains kept me awake
Excellent location. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Owner shared a bottle of beer on arrival. Breakfast was good, but supplies were slow in being replenished. Work was being done on the hotel, so there was a bit of inconvenience. Would recommend it for a short stay.
value for money, good wifi access, comfortable rooms, supermarket 2 min away
staff was unpleasant, inconvenient location and hard to find
Pleasant room. Nice view of the Rhine from room. Public parking is close to the hotel (and not expensive). Good breakfast.
Very late check-in (after 18.00), guests are gathered in the dining room for that. Ferry line to the center of city is very near, but it works only to 17.55. After that to get back from city to hotel is not so simple anymore. Near the hotel is noisy railroad.
It´s an old building, so it has a charm. Interesting concept with every room having a theme. We stayed in the Marylin Monroe-room. The host, was nice. Clean. Cheap. Nice view. Has a potencial as they are renovating.
No lift, we stayed at the top floor, but you can expect that in an old house. It seems they are renovating the other part of the building. One of the beds was saggy. Reception from 18 to 22 is amateurish. Paying cash a bit odd nowadays. A bit kitch with all the pictures in room, breakfast room and stairs, should have taken down some of them. I think it can get better with time.
Friendly host, close to the city center by crossing the Rhine with a boot. Within a 10min walk you will reach the fort. Inside the hotel looks like a museum.
Hotel has a nice decoration with plants, paintings, radio's clocks etc but it does look old. No airco in the rooms which makes it pretty hot inside. Floor & bed make a creaking sound. To expensive for what you get, we have stayed in more luxurious hotels for the same price.
when we book the room with cheap price, they didnt mention about no bathroom inside or outside or share...So, I had a bad night without shower.
Friendly staff and interior design
Beds and floor are very noisy
Breakfast. Bargain. Location. Host.
Waiting until 6pm to check in (without knowing that we would have to do this). Facilities a little worn and dated.
