A very bright, clean, well kept hotel with a helpful efficient staff. The 5 euro breakfast is very good value but being put into a small side room is not nice. It would be good to have tea\coffee making facilities in the room.

The location was absolutely perfect -- right next to the Neckar river and Old Bridge, very close to the castle, market square/church and pedestrian zone. The view from my room was spectacular. Hotel was beautiful and the staff was extremely helpful. I arrived early but they let me drop off my luggage so I could wander around the city for several hours until my room was ready. On paper the parking garage looked like it was far from the hotel, but actually put you close to the castle or close to the market square, which was a short distance to the hotel. There were so many restaurants right next to the hotel, you didn't have to go too far to have a great experience. And the hotel restaurant was great -- good food, nice outdoor seating with a view of the Old Bridge. Rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Because of it's location, at times there was some noise early morning/late at night with tours visiting the Old Bridge or folks eating at outside cafes. However, it didn't last all night or become too loud; closing the windows helped somewhat. Very minor issue. Also, the rooms/bathroom are somewhat small compared to US standards, but if you don't plan to spend all day in the room, the location and charm far out-way this issue. Again, very minor issue and not a deal breaker as far as I was concerned. Especially since the location was fantastic!

I often stay at the Hollander Hof when travelling through this part of Germany. It is in a great location in the old town opposite the old bridge over the River Neckar & ideally situated for all the tourist areas and shopping. The staff here are fantastic and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The rooms are very comfortable, most with river views and have all modern facilities. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone looking to visit Heidelberg.

The staff: very professional and genuinely kind; the location in front of the old bridge and in a neighborhood of cafés & restaurants (don't miss Oskar!); the fact that we could get hypoallergenic pillows; the cleanliness; the free wifi in the room. Well, the reception and breakfast area would profit from a refurbishment

Convenient to downtown area and castle. Close to a number of reasonably good eating facilities. Rooms at front of hotel offer a nice view of the river, etc. Unloading a lot of luggage is a problem given the small space available to park temporarily. We checked out on the morning of the "Heidelberger Herbst" which made getting the luggage of which we had a lot to the car, a problem. The location of the parking lot, if one does not understand the directions, can cause problems. It would have been helpful to have had access to a fridge to store perishables, etc.

Very nice and comfortable room with a great view of bridge and river and we were lucky enough to have one of the few with a small balcony. Nicely decored and updated for comfort with good bed and nice modern bathroom. Excellent location for access to sights and restaurants all within easy walking distance. Nice buffet breakfast although not included in the hotel room price but still priced reasonably, thereby giving one the option of eating there or elsewhere and either full buffet or lighter cheaper continental type. Generally helpful and courteous staff. Not really anything significant negative although one of the reception staff members was a little gruff and somewhat unpleasant with us about our need to store our luggage with them for a couple of hours after checkout. She accomodated our request but was noticeably put off by our request and amount of luggage. Admittedly we did have a lot of luggage and the reception area only has limited amount of space to store it. Otherewise the staff were all very pleasant and helpful at reception, breakfast and cleaning services.

It was perfectly situated across from the river and within easy walking distance to everything. Offsite parking was inconvenient but unavoidable due to lack of parking spaces in the old city area.

The room and the hotel in general were in excellent condition - very clean, comfortable and well looked after. Our first floor room had great views overlooking the River Neckar and the city-centre location was perfect for us. The bathroom was very clean with a great shower - warm and powerful. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming, particualrly the night receptionist and I felt well looked after. The hotel is relatively expensive, although that seems true for many hotels in Heidelberg.

I loved the front desk staff, who were unrelentingly cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful. I liked the old world architecture of the exterior and the modern comforts of the room and bath. I really appreciated the quietness of my courtyard view room. The housekeeping staff was top notch. The hotel's location is one of the best in Heidelberg. The private loading zone in front of the hotel was a bonus. Even though there is no on-site parking, it was nice to be able to pull up in front of the hotel to load & unload luggage without obstructing traffic.
