Hotel Altberlin am Potsdamer Platz  

Quirky hotel - very well situated for transport - bus stop and u line very close. Good bus service into Berlin. Great if you want to avoid an international hotel with the blandness that goes with it. Excellent buffet breakfasts catering for all tastes. Efficient and helpful staff - though not over friendly. Some late night food outlets in the area. Did not eat at the hotel in the evening- though the menu looked interesting. Very international guests. Would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Some of the staff were a little brusque, although others were very pleasant.

The attached gasthaus provided an easy, convenient spot for good meals after a hard day's sightseeing.

The receptionist could be rather curt, possibly as a result of her lack of English vocabulary.

The quality of food for breakfast was not bad and the location, despite being in an area which is far for being glamorous (surrounded by closed shops, popular houses, etc...), is relatively close to Potsdammer Platz (15 min walk). The bus stop is in front of the hotel and the underground at 10 min walk.

I don't recommend this hotel at all. The first night we were given a small stinky smoking room despite booking for a no-smoking room (changed after the first night). The no-smoking room was facing the road, so noisy that you could play to guess what car was smoking rubber at the red light nearby ("is this a v8 bmw m3 or rather an Aston Martin Vantage??? No, probably it's a Jaguar..."). Of course no air conditioning. In the breakfast room (a small bar-restaurant nearby) the number of tables is limited and when one became available the waiter, instead of cleaning it, left the cups on the dirty table and went outside to smoke a cigarette...no comment!

Great location and value for money. The room was clean, of adequate size and very quiet but in a separate part of the hotel. Breakfast was substantial but basically the same each day. staff very helpful and would use the hotel again.

Wer den Charme alter Häuser mag, der ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Das Hotel wurde sehr liebevoll restauriert und ist eine wunderschöne alte Stadtvilla. Der Frühstücksraum, welcher gleichzeitig Restaurant ist, ist sehr geschmackvoll und zeittypisch eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich in die Jahrhundertwende zurückversetzt. Toll auch die Stuckarbeiten in den Zimmern. Trotzdem gibt es einen modernen Fahrstuhl und neue moderne - dennoch im Stil passende - Bäder. Die Zimmer haben Flachbildschirme, kostenfreien Internetzugang und als Kontrast hohe Decken. Die kleineren Zimmer schauen in einen typischen altberliner Innenhof. Sehr schön, aber wer es modern mag ist hier fehl am Platze!

La posizione comoda da e per l'aeroporto,la pulizia estrema della cMera e del bagno,la gentilezza dello staff alla richiesta di info sulla città e I mezzi di trasporto,l'aria vintage degli arredi e la vicinanza a molti siti da visitare.

Forse la colazione,benché sufficiente,tendeva a privilegiare il salato a discapito del dolce.Alcuni addetti alla coazione non molto cordiali.

Caratteristico, palazzo trasformato in albergo, il bagno della mia camera è una cucina diventata tale, ristorante in clima berlinese anni 20

Letto scomodissimo, in ferro battuto, con un materasso spesso 10 cm, pulizia della stanza scarsa, poca assistenza con solo una persona alla reception, avevo la stanza al primo piano sopra al ristorante e fino a tarda notte sentivo voci e rumori

Le personnel n'est pas aimable et fait peu d'effort pour aider la clientèle.

Sehr gute zentrale Lage mit guter Busverbindung in die Innenstadt und zum Bahnhof direkt vor der Hoteltür. Tolles Frühstück mit aufmerksamem Servicepersonal. Hab mich sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt.

Unbedingt statt Duschvorhängen eine ordentliche Abtrennung vornehmen. Es ist äußerst unangenehm, wenn beim Duschen der Vorhang laufend am Körper klebt.
