The hotel was full of character with an excellent restaurant which served an great breakfast. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The location was ok about 15 mins walk to potsdarma plaza were a lot of the main attractions are.
Nothing we really enjoyed our stay there.
Good location Interesting building Reasonable room Superb Breakfast
The staff could have been a liitle more hospitable. One receptionist was quite rude and most unsuited to a front line job! Very small shower
WiFi unstable and low speed. 4 stars price for a 2 stars standard. Personnel hard with customers.
We liked the food and service in the afternoon and in the evening.
We død not like the lady in the reseption. She must learn to smile and to be more kind to the guests.
Comfortable beds. Very good breakfast. Situated near city centre. Do you self a favour: rent bikes and see more.
We had a room with window to the street where there was a lot of noise from cars, the bar opposite, and buses. Some of our friends had rooms toward the back yard which where much better.
Younger staff were friendly, but inexperienced. The food was good and fairly plentiful although the gin ran out after two nights (no joke).
Fixtures, fittings and rooms had a "tired" look and feel. They were not "old style", just "old". The hotel was pretty tatty. Staffing was a problem and breakfasts in the morning were a complete scrum. Check in was a real perfomance and we were given a sub-standard room that we had to insisit was changed.
We are 76 years but no help with luggage despite no lift to first floor. Unwelcoming and continuing negative tone from one reception attendant, female blonde while excellent service and attention from good natured male and darkhaired female reliefe reception attendants. no recognition by day staff of fact that we all had to evacuate twice due to fire alarm early morning.
Decent - regular breakfast
Rude staff, took payment 2 weeks before my arrival, awful Berlin area - I won't recommend.
Great old building and decor. Not your usual 'international' hotel with no character. Lavish breakfast buffet, and also a very nice hotel restaurant. Staff helpful about where to put our touring bikes and providing city info.
Room very small, and en suite VERY small with horrible clinging shower curtain. Also, if you opened your window, smoke from the smokers in the courtyard came in your room. Quilt cover so shabby (but clean) that it had a hole in it. Room didn't seem that well vacuumed when we arrived.
great location, quiet sleep, very friendly staff, and yummie schnitzels. Fast wifi, and good breakfast. The rooms are clean, and maybe a bit old fashioned, but thats part of the charm. I've stayed in hotels much more expensive before but this was better. Also a secure car parking for only 8,50 per night is an added bonus.
this is really the only thing: the towels were quite thin.
Good breakfast and dinner. Great location with bus out the front. Very helpful staff and very professional. I would recommend to friends and would stay there again
Hotel building is old so therefore some facilities- shower etc. could be upgraded. Minor criticism only
Lovely hotel with great charm and character. Pleasant helpful staff and great breakfast. Excellent value for money.
Would have appreciated a magnifying mirror for makeup in the bathroom but many more expensive hotels don't have these either.
This hotel has real character while the staff are friendly and the location is also very good. There was also a varied choice of food for breakfast, and it was nice to have a kettle in my room for a cup of tea.
Nothing really, although perhaps my bed was a bit basic could have been more comfortable.
Shower (was falling on your feet)
- Decore/ambience - they had many historic pieces of equipment, old photos, etc on display in the public areas and the rooms were well decorated. - Staff - great customer service - Great breakfasts
Our room was several floors upstairs and opened onto an internal courtyard. (Beautifully decorated). A few people partied there until the small hours of the morning - the sound funnelling upwards to our room. (The building walls acted like a megaphone - unfortunately disrupting our sleep).
Comfort (excluding shower), braakfast, very nice building
The shower was not good
Coffee machine in room, breakfast good, nice bathroom, nice beer garden.
Occasional smell of smoke in room from beer garden, could have done with a fan/air con in hot weather. Decor a little creepy late at night (Victorian cot with doll on corridor!) - but added to the ambience of hotel :)
location restaurant was great-excellent food atmosphere most of staff was very friendly
lighting in the room could use improvement had to get new password daily for internet, which was a bit of a nuisance
Breakfast and location very good. I also requested a quiet room and got one. We arrived really late but were given a very friendly welcome
Having to drag our suitcases up stairs from the lift.
Close to Potsdam square, good connection to public transport. tasty breakfast and nice people.
Noice from the street, which was partly due to the WM Football.
Too small room
location breakfast courtyard
Breakfast excellent - variety and quality was exceptional Rooms quirky and unusual Reception staff friendly
Waiter in restaurant not very friendly Wine very watery
Very good location near the Tiergarten and some great museums, but quiet enough for a good nights sleep. Able to walk to Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag. Great breakfast. Comfortable bed.
