    Spacious room - price/quality

Bathroom is too small! In spite of the beauty of the Tegern See (Lake Tegern) Bad Wiessee turns out to be a sort of (dull) "touristpark" for old, middle class pensioners!

Hotel Am Kureck is a lovely family-run hotel. The Held Family are such pleasant and gracious hosts, and you automatically feel at home. Kristina personally escorted us to our room! And what a room it was... Spacious, well-decorated, and very comfortable. Our huge balcony faced the Lake Tegernsee, and it was lovely to just wind down there after an activity-filled day. The bathroom is not very large, but it was equipped with a great shower head, plus the hotel provided more toiletries than what other hotels would normally give nowadays (toothbrushes, razors, cotton swabs & pads, and sewing kit). The hotel has a great location, just a few meters from the Seepromenade, with a large free parking lot just right across. I've also discovered that Mister Held is a great pastry chef, unfortunately I did not have the chance to sample any of the mouth-watering cakes displayed in the cafe. My fiancé and I were only there for an overnight stay but we thoroughly enjoyed it! We hope that we can come back soon.

The breakfast buffet had a limited selection, no warm food options, but the breads and cold cuts were of very good quality. It was also slightly disappointing that the hotel cafe/restaurant closes at 6pm, therefore you would have to venture out for dinner. And fair warning, if you are particular about air-conditioning, the rooms are not equipped. We are normally not picky about this, but we were unlucky enough to be there during 35 degree weather.

I had a big room, everything was very clean, staff was extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good. You get more than you pay for!
