The woods surrounding the hotel are excellent for jogging, Nordic walking and cycling. The nearest bus stop is just a 1-minute walk from the hotel. The city centre and ferry terminals for Stena Line, Color Line and the tour ferries can be reached in a 10 to 15-minute drive.

If you are arriving at Kiel Hauptbahnhof (main train station), which is 6 km from the hotel, take bus number 91 or 31 to Mettenhof. Get off at the bus station Waldesruh. Hotel Birke is right across the street.
You can also take a taxi, which takes approximately 10 minutes.

If you are arriving at Hamburg Fuhslbüttel Airport, which is 80 km from the hotel, take the aiport shuttle Kielius to Kiel main train station. The bus leaves 17 times a day.

If you arriving to Kiel by Stena Line or Color Line ferry, the hotel is just a 10 minute drive from the port.
