Grand Hotel Esplanade Berlin

wonderful, ultra-sleek and modern architecture, including waterfalls, candles, nice hues; large, comfortable, luxurious room, great central location

All services that I used > garage, luggage (especially on departure), restaurants, roomservice, clerk made an excellent job. The personal in total gave us the impression to be very helpful.

A bit far from nearest subway station.

We liked very much its location, its comfort rooms and beds, the friedly staff, and the atrium cafe. We enjoyed very much this cafe, and there was almost a stop there every day for an excellent espresso and a cake. Although the hotel is located in the centre of Berlin, it gives an impression of the countryside and this is one of its power point for somebody who works hardly and wants to have some relax during his vacation. On the other hand, it was very easy for us to visit every interesting location and the numerous museums of the beautiful Berlin, taking the bus 100 and M29, just few meters of the hotel! We will come back some day!

The cleanliness of the rooms and the bathrooms.

I loved the room I stayed and the variety in breakfast! I also liked the entrance and Harrys New York bar.

I didn't like the confusing elevators.

he hotel itself had a rather anonymous and impersonal feel to it - you can see they're used to hundreds of people coming through every day. Room was nice and clean, however, it was but a bit strange that - despite the windows on the opposite side of the street that could peer in, there was no kind of day-curtain. It was either darkness, or full visbility!

All the staff are very nice, polite and helpful.

The air-conditioning in my room makes irritative noise days and nights.

the beds were very comfortable and the shower was excellent. The rooms were very clean.

The hotel was comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly. It was value for money and I would consider staying there again.

Location. My only caveat about returning is ease of access/distance to and from the centre of town. Only other issue is the beeer/bier. Poor choice for a 5* hotel. Simply to have a bog standard pils on given the great range of German bier is woeful. My overall impression was of a good 4* hotel not quite making it to 5* because of little bits of detail like the bier.

The room is very good and houskeeping works perfectly.

During the check in the administrator asked for my bank card as deposit, although I explained him I would basicly just come to sleep there and would not use any extra facilities including the minibar. Still? they authorized 50 USD for each night of my stay, without explaining the purpose, and now after several days this amount is still blocked on my card, and porbably after the authorization will be canceled I'll will still have losts due to the curency rate changes.
