Hotel Hackescher Markt  

Less than I expected, ok though

Small room, cold

Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Breakfast was very good.

Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed with the hotel. The room was far too small for 2 people. The bed was pushed up against two walls - side and head - which was very claustrophobic. We actually slept head to toe!! We had always assumed that access should be both sides of the bed, and that we would not be scrambling over it. In addition to this, as the trams were on the road outside our window, and running for 24 hours, it was terribly noisy. There was no air conditioning but as we couldn't open the window because of the noise, the room was uncomfortably stuffy. We did ask if there was another room available, but they were fully booked. We paid Euro 125 per night, and had this been for a double room (as advertised and for what we thought we had booked) we felt this was a fair price, but the room was most definitely sub standard and we would neither recommend the hotel or return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Hackescher Markt. It is centrally located just around the corner from the Hackescher Mrkt train station making transportation so easy. There are great shops and restaurants in the vicinity and it was an easy walk to Alexanderplatz, Museum Island, Berlin Dome. The hotel was very quiet and the staff was beautifully trained and provided an extraordinary level of service. We highly recommend this lovely boutique hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic location, less than 5 minutes from Museum Island in Berlin. On a fairly quiet street, yet right in the heart of shopping and restaurants. Very convenient to public transportation. Would definitely stay here again - free wireless!

Hotel Hackescher Markt is an ideal base for a trip to Berlin.It is close to transport, restaurants and the sites of major tourist interest. It has character which is often missing in larger hotel chains and is good value in terms of comfort and price.

Excellent location for north east/central Berlin. Staff first-class, friendly and helpful and efficient service. Bed/bathrooms spotlessly clean. Beds very comfortable. Would definitely go back.

The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent as was service by breakfast staff. Desk staff was also very cordial and helpful. The location was excellent, very close to Museum Island and to shopping and city center.
