Hotel Hackescher Markt Berlin

It is perfectly situated as a base from which to explore Berlin. Great neighborhood. Easy access to public transit; many sites within even easier walking distance. Some of the staff were v helpful ( some not). Although it is by no means luxurious, it is safe & clean & all you need really ( & well regarded in town).

Huge fees for WiFi (which I didn't use, so am not sure of the quality/speed). Ditto for breakfast (bring your own kettle!). Tiny room with single bed & shower only overlooking light rail tracks. No interior design. :-) But all is efficient & clean & again- all you need really.

We found it very noisy at night with the streetcar tracks and revelers yelling, laughing etc.on the street outside the window. We had to leave the window open as it was too hot otherwise.

Wir hatten zuerst ein etwas kleines Zimmer zur Straßenseite (war mein Fehler bei der Buchung), konnten nach der ersten Nacht jedoch problemlos in ein geräumiges Zimmer der höheren Kategorie (20 Euro Preisunterschied) wechseln. Dieses Zimmer lag auch nicht an der Außenseite, sondern am Innenhof und war daher ruhiger. Für zwei Personen würde ich diese Kategorie empfehlen.
