Staff Rooms Buffet breakfast
- The rooms were clean. - The location of the hotel was good.
- Some of the receptionists were not friendly. - It was really ridiculous that there was no wi-fi in the rooms and you had to pay quite a lot of money for internet connection. Nowadays even the 3-star hotels have free wi-fi.
The location of the hotel was as good as can be literally 10 mins walk from the underground car park at which the hotel pays 50% of the bill for so that was nice .
The staff was rather rude nearly every time we spoke to them, I booked a delux double room and was given a double twin room ! When I asked them they told me that's what they had for me, the pool was rather small and the gym was adequate for a short stay. Probly won't use them again but overall not a bad experience as the city itself made up for it and literally spent 90% of our time out of the hotel.
Friendly staff. In-house swimming pool & small gym. Superior location
Internet Access was ridiculously expensive, so I had to buy mobile access. Breakfast was excellent but expensive as well. Kitchen facilities were not available. Reaching the hotel by car was somewhat cumbersome.
great location, across the street from the chocolate museum, not far from the catadral and train station. very clean, staff is friendly.
wifi is way overpriced concidering this is 2014.... breakfast is also overpriced.
comfortable, clean, calm,
extra charge for internet
The location is great, close to the old city. Hotel is in a good condition. Breakfast very delicious, great variety . You can bake your own waffles, but ask the staff to help you before you mess it up. Nice room with tiny balcony, charming. Room could be bigger. Great bed with one solid mattress. Coffee- and tea-machine in the room..
Wi-fi is super expensive! Room could have been a little bigger. No minibar! Mini fridge but no content!
19 euro for wifi per day
Really quiet comfortable rooms in a great location to work in and experience the city!
This hotel is very clean and the beds are very comfortable - the level of cleanliness and comfort are really what I would expect in a much pricier higher range hotel. The location is very convenient. There is parking under the hotel (albeit expensive).
Some of our group found the hotel staff very pleasant, but I found them to be generally unfriendly. On two occasions, we were sat in the cafe or at breakfast and clearly had no drinks and therefore had not been served, and the waitress simply looked at us and ignored us until we asked to be served. On another occasion, I asked for a black tea and was served an Earl Grey - I explained that I did not like Earl Grey and asked if the hotel had ordinary breakfast tea, as this is what I had had the night before in the same area of the hotel. The waitress said no without checking. I then noticed a pile of tea bags which I liked near our table and asked if I could have one of these, but was told no because that tea was reserved for a conference (even though there was no one there and I was only asking for one tea bag). The sauna was switched off every time I visited the wellness area. This was disappointing as it was one of the reasons I booked the hotel at that price. Perhaps reception would have switched it on if I had asked, but it is offputting to feel that I have to ask. The wifi is very expensive at 17 euros per day or 5 euros for half an hour. There is no room service and no snacks such as sandwiches as you would expect in a 4* hotel - only a vending machine with crisps and chocolate bars.
Excellent location, clean rooms, comfortable bed, good pool. Lots of nearby places to eat if you don't want to spend money on breakfast in the hotel.
Wonderful location near the Rhine River and lots of restaurants to eat nearby.
The shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor everytime you took a shower and vanity faucet sink also leaked water all over vanity.
Apartmen with 4 beds has only 2 chairs I had to ask for kitchen equipment (cutlery, pots etc.). Nothing was there. The receptionist was not pleasant.
Close to the centre and to transport.
The shower was in the bedroom. Not a good design idea.
Swimmingpool is great as well as breakfast buffet. Quiet place, very comfortable.
As the Hotel is in a old builiding, everything is a Little bit contorted. It takes about 15-20 Minutes to stroll to the cathedral / railway Station. Missed - as in the most Hotels in Europe - a water Boiler.
You had to pay for WiFi. This is not something that you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The staff are not very friendly, although they are efficient. I will not be staying here again nor recommend it.
The staff was friendly and competent, but other than checking in and out, we had little contact.
- Good, convenient location, 30 min walk to Messe, close to city centre - good european breakfast, full & tasty - pool, gym in the hotel - quite, comfortable sleep - good room service - staff is friendly and helpful
- Wireless internet is extra cost, quite expensive (10 euro per 120 min) - shower had mechanical defect - windowsill was broken - one lamp in the room was broken - 200+ euro per room seems a bit high, compared to room size, even for Photokina week - ironing board and iron provided on request, were of very poor condition
20 minute walk from HBF. Large room. Good shower. Spa facilities. Very good base for exploring the city.
Church bell chimed every hour until 10pm and started again at 7pm...although it wasn't too bad! Very limited choice in bar.
This hotel is very central to the old town. The staff were very helpful, especially directing us to parking in the centre of the city which was subsidised by the hotel so that it only cost us €8 for the saty (arriving in the afternoon and leaving lunch time the next day). Everything was very clean and comfortable and the food selection at breakfast was the best I've seen!
The hotel wanted to charge extortionate rates for wifi in the hotel, which is unusual as most hotels offer free wifi these days.
very happy to look after our bags as we were too early to check-in, and after check out
No coffee/tea making facilities in room
The location was excellent as were the facilities at the hotel and all the staff were extremely friendly.
no complaints whatsoever
The breakfest is not included and is very expenive, althoug delicious. There´s no free internet in the hotel . The nearest metro station is a little far from the hotel... about 500-600 mts
beds, location, staff all very nice
Since when is internet not a service, but a way to rip off customers 17 Euro/day...
