The only thing that I liked was the location of the hotel. That the room pictures within the marketing information on the website did not match the single room that I was stayhing, which was extremely basic and creepy looking. The fact that there is no hotel staff or lift working between 10pm until 6.30am. I believe the hotel owners should be more honest with the single rooms ambience rather than deceiving business execs in thiking that their place is a chic boutique hotel.

Moguntia has all the advantages of a small family-run hotel without having many of its disadvantages. The staff (on most days consisting just of Mr. Jung himself) is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and the location is convenient. I was pleasantly surprised with the breakfast (that was included in the room rate): the cold buffet offered a good selection of breads, various sandwich materials and cereals, and a coffee machine, which was the highlight of every morning. Overall, this hotel offers a great value for money - given a choice, I would definitely stay there again! I stayed in the "small single room" that actually turned out to be not that small, just with a slightly tilted ceiling and a smaller window that the regular rooms would have. The furniture is a bit old, but it may add extra charm for those who like this. The wi-fi signal was very weak, but when I complained about it to Mr. Jung, he immediately offered me to switch to a different room with better coverage, which I did and had no problems afterwards. The only real disadvantage of this room was that it's located on the 5th floor while the elevator only goes to the 4th: people with heavy luggage, beware. The regular rooms all have elevator access, so it should be no problem.

The free wi-fi is only available in the hotel hobby that is locked from 10 pm to 6 am. The elevators also do not work this time. This is single person owned hotel, that is more like a a house transformed into a hotel. Next time I would add couple of more euros and be in a professionally managed hotel.

The staff knows the city well. They helped me find the times and locations of everything I wanted to see, then asked later if I'd enjoyed them. The hotel is very clean and convenient. A great all-you-can-eat breakfast!

Bathroom and beds were ok. Parking in a very narrow garage, only for experienced drivers! Hotel staff claimed that the comments I wrote on the webpage were not handed to them. Since two of my party have a diet (glutenfree) this caused a problem during breakfast. Staff couldn't handle the situation at all. First time for me that a hotel claims that it didn't receive the comments.

It was close to the inner city/(shoppign areas and train station), great location. No elevator access for the ones that stay on upper floors (higher than lobby area). Not enough parking spaces fro the amount of guest. Internet access have to pay for and signal is bad when u pay for it when I was on the 5th floor.

Breakfast was good. This hotel did not match the photos on the website. The hotel is a 25 to 30 minute walk to the center of town. It is a 15 minute walk from the train station to the hotel. The staff is available from 6:30 am to 10:00pm.

The hotel was located close to the main station and historic town centre. There were nice neighbourhood cafes, pubs and restaurants in the residential area around the hotel. The facilities in the room were good and it was cleaned to a very high standard. The breakfast was good quality and value for money.

It is a small hotel in a quiet block, but within less than 10 minutes walk to the main railway station and to the city hall. The staff are nice and helpful, making the stay of my family very comfortable.

The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and polite, as well as multilingual. Our rooms (two singles on the second and third floors) were the largest I have ever stayed in, amply furnished and comfortable. We really appreciated the outside blinds to darken the rooms, and the lift (good idea to stop it after 10pm). Bathrooms were big, and everywhere was spotlessly clean. It was lovely to have a balcony with chairs to relax in the evening. We also made good use of the free hot drinks which were available from reception until it closed at 10pm. Good, if basic, breakfast. Under ten minutes walk from the main station; situated in a quiet, mainly residential area; buses and bars within a couple of minutes' walk. We will definitely recommend this hotel and would return there if ever we visited Mainz again. There were a couple of niggles - such as holes in the curtains, and faded chair covers- which could be so easily remedied. The extractor fan in my bathroom was rather noisy, and behind a cupboard door marked 'minibar' there was - nothing :) But these are really small minuses compared to the general impression which was one of excellent value for money.

The price is ok. clean and just 10 minutes by feet from the railway station. The lift is out of service after the reception is closed - after 10 pm. So, I had to climb to the 4th floor every evening! Hotel is quite far from the tourist sights.

The hotel is located in a quiet and safe district of the city. A short walk to the train station and a little longer walk to the city center. The room was clean and nice. Very basic, yet quite enough. The mini room next to the elevator first seems ugly however when you enter, you realize it is pretty convenient and not really very small for one person. Decent breakfast. Staff is speaking English. Mini room reasonably priced. The view outside the mini rooms are not enjoyable (looking at the backyard), however no street noise is also heard (very quiet and peaceful). The hotel lacks wi-fi as advertised.
