I think the breakfast buffet was excellent. I really enjoyed it. It would be nice to have some help with the luggage! |

Probably once a smart hotel, but has gone to seed. Our room had threadbare, stained carpets and a sofa with a sagging, tired cover. Although breakfast was free we avoided it after our first experience. It was a miserable affair, made all the more painful by the extraordinarily high price (although it was the week of the book fair). Will not return. |

Free Internet, and free coffee, etc. in the lobby I was told that telephone was free and I asked if that included mobiles and they said yes, only in Germany. When I left, I got a bill for 12 euros and they said that they never said that, so I said they should either make themselves clear or not offer the service |

Excellent location, ample room size and the room was ready when we arrived as we had advised our arrival time, helpful and friendly staff, great buffet breakfast with flexible breakfast time of 6-11 am, proximity to main railway station, free mini bar and internet access although the business center was sometimes very busy and the monitor was inaccessible. A room safe and coffee/tea making facilities in the room would have been great as sometimes we didn't want to go out just to have a cup of coffee. They probably didn't offer the latter as they offered coffee, tea, and drinks and cake near the reception all day. |

The staff was very helpful and friendly. It is an older hotel, the carpet needs to be changed. |

The hotel staff were wonderful. As I arrived very late, it was great to have a friendly, helpful person to quickly get everything sorted. The bed was uncomfortable. I would warn others that this is the major downside staying there. |

Hotel is situated across the street from the main railway station. Close walking distances to just about anything you would want to see. Also close to the Rhine river where you can take boat tours. There was a complimentry mini bar and the free breakfast was excellant. |

conveniently located close to the Haptbahnhof. clean rooms. The plus, which is the gentle touch of this hotel is that they provide with coffee/kettle in the room, practical for earlybirds. Most of all the minibar is free, which for the price for the room is really a great commercial draw for this hotel. The breakfast buffet is also included in the price of the room. the breakfast buffet is not varied but this is very minor. |

Hotel Monopol is an example of a solidly built, old-fashioned hotel that has been well-maintained and handsomely renevated where necessary. It is perfectly located with the central train station across the street and shopping only a few blocks away. It also offers an excellent breakfast. In summer the rooms can be a little warm as there is no air-conditioning. I cannot answer the question below about guest reviews because I have not read them. |
