Hotel Schottenhof  

I found the staff to be very friendly and courteous. Also, the location, directly across from the Hauptbahnhof is ideal for travellers.

The room had a musty smell which was difficult to get rid of. Also, the cleaning leaved a little to be desired. There was an empty packet of cigarettes under the bed but I do not smoke and had been staying there for four nights.

Very close to the Mainz Hbf train station. Very close to restaurants and walking tour sites.

Room was airless. With window open there was still no air flow. No a/c, no fan. Very small. Not worth the $100+ a night.

Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and the room and breakfast were great for the price.

There was no kettle in the room, and the sound insulation was a bit poor- I was there for work, but during carnival, so other guests coming back late from partying woke me up. I guess this can't really be helped though!

The hotel is ideally located for trip. It is near from railway station and not far from jetty on the Rhine. The hotel has all the necessary information through the town.

The helpful staff and convenient location to the train station. Good breakfast.

It was a bit shabby. room was very small. Tiny elevator somewhat scary.

We were in one of the newly renovated rooms on the 2nd floor, and we were very impressed. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the room was large and open. Breakfast was fantastic!

However, the room was 1 storey above street level on a very busy street. I recommend ear plugs for an even better night's rest.

Location. The hotel was one block from the main train station and a 10 minute walk to the interesting city center. From the train station to Frankfurt airport is only 20 minutes. The hotel was clean and provided a reasonable breakfast at a very reasonable price. Internet connection was good.

The desk clerks were very nice but barely understood English. When I arrived the hotel was overbooked, but anyway, after a slight delay, I was given the room that I had reserved.

Simple hotel (slightly old) but room was spacious and quite clean. The hotel is close to the railway station but center is at 15 min walking.

The location is good and the staff is very nice and helpful. We can place our luggagues there one night before our stay. They give us the key of the room to place our luggagues there, but we will only check in the next day. They are so generous to give us the room one day before our stay to place our luggauges. Thanks a lot.
