The Mainzer Hof is located in Mainz city center, just steps away from the Rhine River. It offers well-equipped rooms, a sauna area and a daily breakfast buffet.
Score from 835 reviews Good
This non-smoking hotel is in the green Finthen district, 4 miles west of central Mainz. The 4-star Atrium Hotel has tasteful accommodations and excellent services with the A60 highway.
Score from 410 reviews Wonderful
Located across from Mainz's Main Train Station, Hotel Königshof offers a 24-hour front desk and soundproofed rooms with free Wi-Fi. Buses, trams and S-Bahn (light rail) trains are right outside.
Score from 746 reviews Very good
This modern, 4-star hotel is just 165 yards from Mainz Central Train Station. It offers soundproofed rooms, varied breakfast buffets, and free public transportation passes for Mainz and Wiesbaden.
Score from 524 reviews Very good
staff nice, available to help if needed
no internet in room, small and old lift, small room
Breakfast very good
Staff variably helpful, some rude.
The WIFI signal was so weak that I could not use it in my room. I had to sit in the hotel lobby to connect.
Near to the railway station Breakfast included
Terrible Wifi noisy in the morning
location is central, close to main train station
hotel is old. small rooms. WiFi unusable
Proximity to train. Pleasant breakfast offering. Breakfast area is bright with walls of windows facing street. Courteous staff. Large white bathroom. Spacious and very clean room. Nice vibe.
Somewhat tired furnishings.
Very good location, very comfortable and clean room, good breakfast as well.
We were in the 4th floor and all the 3rd floor is a smoking-permitted area. We open the window because it was very hot, but just under us there was somebody smoking and all the smoke came into our room, so we had to close the window. I thing that the smoking area should be in the upper floor, in the 5th.
The hospitality of the personel, all of them are very nice. The breakfast is good.
I felt the springs of the bed in my back, so the matress should be changed.
The location was really good for train travelers. Nice breakfast buffet.
Empty beer bottles on the terrace were never picked up and bathroom needed some TLC. Sunday evening clerk was more interested in chatting with his friend than helping; he sent me to a restaurant across the street that was closed.
Good breakfast. Handy location close to railway station.
Friendly staff, wonderful breakfast, quiet, close to train station, the river and the Old Town section. Also, we arrived very early and they let us check in to our room at no extra cost.
Tiny elevator, very slow WiFi.
Friendly staff. Great location across the train station.
Noisy even at night. Sound proofing non existent.
Simple and convenient location for train or city center. Good breakfast.
The location is very close to the main station
I changed reservation via phone but the staff did not put it in the system correctly, so I had to pay the 5 nights of my previous reservation instead of the 4 nights I really stayed at the hotel, I think this is really poor costumer service!! --> Always request confirmation per mail if you change your reservation via phone
Beds comfortable Location excellent Staff friendly and accommodating
Rooms too noisy - lack of double glazing in city centre location, too much noise between rooms Decor not good esp in bathrooms - needs updating Breakfast poor - coffee and tea unpleasant Quite expensive compared with competition
Close train station and the city center.
Location is amazing, very short walk to the old town, museums and shops.
Great location, not expensive. Parking just outside.
Wifi was so slow that it was unusable. Room was small and without much comfort.
Easy to park outside, no charge after 8 pm Nice breakfast
Poor room, not so clean Bad smell (smoke) in the room. The probably say that all rooms are non smoking even if they are not
It was great that the hotel was so close to the main station in Mainz; it eased dragging our 4 suitcases and 2 kids. The family room offered 2 separate rooms with a full bathroom with bath. The size of the rooms were big enough to offer space for suitcases as well. We will stay at this hotel again.
The hotel is a bit of a walk from the main town which make shopping a bit challenging.
Location excellent for train travellers. Good value for money. Lovely city to visit, and while there don't miss Wiesbaden across the river.
Girl 'managing' breakfast room showed no interest in guests. In particular, some guidance on how the unique egg self-serve process worked would have been helpful (Refers to morning 17/12/13).
My mother and I went to Germany for the 2013 Christmas markets. Our first 2 days we stayed at the Hotel Schottenhof and visited the Mainz and Frankfurt Christmas Markets. We did not rent a car and relied on trains for our trip. This hotel was perfect for the train station and VERY quiet. We arrived early in the day and although our room wasn't ready they held our luggage for us and let us check in early as soon as a room was ready. Breakfast was included and it was wonderful - very complete and fresh! If ever to return to Mainz, that will be my first choice of accommodations. They even have a small lift so you are not hauling your luggage up the stairs.
Nice location, clean rooms and friendly staff.
It is very central, just opposite the train station.
For the rate the room was much too smal
