Hotel Sonne  

We were thrilled with this hotel. Did lots of research on where to stay and with the expense of hotels in Fussen we wanted to make a wise choice for the money. We could not have been more happy. First of all we were traveling by train. The hotel was visable from the train station so that was great. Staff was great. Spoke english which was nice. Wonderful wonderful breakfast included. The best we've seen in our travels around Europe. Place to rent bikes around the corner. Could pick up the bus to the castles right by the hotel and just a great central place. Would very much stay here again!! Good internet after the front desk gave us a "old style" ethernet cable. Luckily our older laptop still has this feature. My husband's iPad did work on the balcony. Great bathroom; including nice but, which is important to me. Oh, and there's a great gym and sauna upstairs . Fridge in the room and also a large safe. Fluffy robes and slipers too.

When I made the booking I paid extra for a "castle" view, which I thought was the famous castle. But it turned out to be the castle in Fussen. We did say something amd the man at the desk explained that the castle wasn't visible but it was the quiet side of the hotel with the balcony; and indeed it was different than the other side of the hotel. There is no one is Fussen that can see the famous castle.That was fine with us so it really wasn't a big deal and we would do the same next time we go. It is the more quiet side of the hotel without so much street noise.

The location could be found easily by GPS. Staff were very nice and helpful. The room was well designed - both in decor and convenience in usage, even up to small details e.g. rack spacious enough for 2 luggages in a double room - which was seldom found in other hotels. Washing machines and free internet were of great help. Breakfast was great.

I loved this Hotel em the little town of Fussen! Located in the historical center and 5 min away from the Neuschwanstein Castle. The rooms are being refurnished with very stylish design. The breakfast room is idilic specially in our case that was snowing outside. Very good breakfast and really nice staff. I would strong recommend this hotel for families or young couples. Free wi-fi all over the Hotel

Lovely rooms and great customer service. Staff spoke good English and were very friendly.

The free wi-fi really didn't work in my room and I had to go down to reception to get a reliable signal.

The hotel was in a fantastic location, near the railway and old city. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was large, clean, modern and comfortable. Breakfast included a wide range of food and again the staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall the hotel was more than we expected and contributed to the wonderful time we had in Fussen and we would highly recommend it.

Very good location near by train station. Very good service, the reception lady Marian(similar pronanciation) from Spain took us to train station when we met problem in buying train tickets from machine in very cold day, even the station is not far we still feel very warm in getting such friendly help. We also enjoy the very good breakfast and dinner there.

The Hotel Sonne is a gorgeous boutique style hotel. Attention to detail ranging from the quirky, yet stylish decor, Resturant extras like Nutella machine & fresh orange juice machine & free use of iPads blew us away. Would love to stay again.

Nothing at all to dislike

It was perfect! The breakfast was amazing. Location great for seeing castles and shopping in nice little town. Child friendly.

For our family of 5, we should have chosen a larger room.

The reception people are very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast is very good, the decoration is nice and the location great! Very good choice, maybe the best in town.

The mattress and the pillow are very based in the german way/stile. They must change the mattress and have options more updated for the pillows, specially in a hotel with high quality purpose.
