This basic hotel is set directly on Hamburgs Reeperbahn boulevard with its famous nightlife venues, just a 10 minute walk from the port, Speicherstadt warehouse city, and several musical theaters. The A&O Hamburg Reeperbahn (formerly known as Hotel Stern) offers functional and modern rooms. Some rooms feature private bathrooms, others have shared facilities in the hallway. The hotel and hostel offers 24-hour reception, with friendly staff, happy to give you advice. Before heading out for a night out on the famous Reeperbahn, stop for a drink in the A&O bar. The A&O Hamburg is located less than half a mile from the port of Hamburg and close to the fish market. Most of Hamburgs attractions are within easy walking distance and the excellent public transportation connections will help you to reach any point of interest within minutes. The hotel was very noisy. In the morning people were screaming in the hall ways for hours. Our room was not cleaned the first day

They provide friendly service, were helpful with directions, even knocked the price down for our room. And it was always warm which was helpful because hamburg is freezing. A 24 hour bar also kept my friend happy

Price is good. There was quiet despite of the noisy street. Expected parking was full, so we had no possibility to park there, and had to go to the public paid undergroung parking (13,50 euro) in 10 minutes walking time.

This hotel is in a very convenient location for pubs, clubs, sightseeing etc. The S-Bahn which brings you directly from the airport (approx 30 mimute journey for 2.80 Euros) is approx 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Great price for an en suite twin room & the shower was excellent. The rooms are basic but what do you expect for the price. It was also clean & tidy. The reception staff were friendly & spoke English.I Emailed the hotel on a coule of occasions & received prompt, friendly & helpful replies. I would definately use a&o again.

We had a room in the back, it was nice and quiet...until the neighbiurs came home. Room was clean and bright and what we needed. As it is a ig backpackers the clientele are noisy and party driven. Wifi was extra. It could have done with another bathroom for each sex on on each floor but it was fine

Great location for a stag trip - near all the nightlife. Rooms are basic but kept extremely clean, clean laundry, towels and shower every day. Wouldn't recommend for couples looking for some peace & quiet

Great location and relatively cheap, it is right in the middle of everything. Good bars and pubs only a 5 minute walk away. When we tried to check in we were told that our room we booked had already been taken by another person and we would have to pay for another room. After 10 minutes of confusion and heated discussion we were given another room and were not charged twice. The reception worker was very unhelpful.

It is not a small hotel/hostel. So many different people around coming and going. Located in different buildings. a relaxed atmosphere. The location of the hotel/hostel is not ok for the families with kids. The prostitudes in the streets and doormen of the strip clubs can be annoying. The breakfast was ok for me. The wlan internet was not available in the rooms but only in the lobby but my room was on the 5th floor so maybe some rooms can connect near to lobby, I don't no. My room was faced to the main street and had a balcony; I liked it. Also the cleanliness was ok. The staff was young and varied and generally relaxed attitude The bathroom in the room was uncomfortable; small floor basin; disturbing long curtain and the thiny waterflow from stable shower head. But the bathroom itself was not very small though.
