The architecture, the staff, the food, and other ammenities were outstanding!!! In addition, the fact that it is right across the street from one of Dresden's most beautiful historic buildings, the Zwinger, is awesome!!!

Part of the restored old part of the city - an historic landmark in it's own right A few steps away from all the sites in the old city - the Semper opera house, the cathedral, the museums, the frauenkirche, the palace Expensive certainly with every luxury and facility but with very helpful and approachable staff Contains a range of food outlets, a French bistro, a Munich beer keller, a cordon bleu restaurant - by no means all of them expensive No - as a city hotel couldn't really be bettered.

The location was fabulous, the staff was excellent, and every comfort was provided. The hotel has lots of shops and lots of good dining options. We loved the beautiful skating rink that the hotel has in the courtyard. There was a huge pretty lighted and decorated Christmas tree in the middle, and the ice was very good. Nice skates were provided for a nominal rental fee. There was a bar located rinkside and the waffles served there were the type with sugar lumps inside. We had had this type of waffle in Belgium, but the Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski's were better! We think it was because the waffles were toasted before serving, so had a wonderful crunchy outside. The windows are also decorated with intricately carved wooden holiday decorations. We are accustomed to receiving free wifi at hotels. At the HTK, free wifi is provided but it is only provided in 15 minute increments. If this is not satisfactory then one must pay for better service. 25 € for 24 hours, or 29€ for 48 hours. It took us a while to realize that we had free wifi at all because the hotel literature only specified pay wifi options.

Great hotel! The staff was really friendly, we had a two hour delay of our train and were missing the Opera, and they were very helpful! Luxury and comfort and best location, across the street from the teather, and marvelous breakfast, really a day to remember!! Sorry we could not stay longer, but we will come back. I whish to tank personally the young man at the reception, he was really helpful, we were sitting at the teather when lights were going off....

This was already a few times our stay in this hotel. We go here regularly before Christmas, the hotel has an amazing atmosphere. Always we can find first class service and excellent staff. We love to sit with a delicious coffee in a cozy cafe on the ground floor Café Apotheke Hotel Kempinski. We'll come back next year.

The hotel is luxurious and in the perfect location to visit all the attractions. The staff are courteous welcoming and helpful at all times. The rooms are clean and very well designed with all the space that one requires. This is the third time I stay at the Taschenberg Palais and will definitely stay again if I am ever in Dresden.

Excelent hotel with very good sevices and experienced and polite staff. We truly felt like being in a palace. Our room (354) was beautifully furnished with a nice view to the Catholic cathedral and very quiet at night. We asked for a one big bed and we get only two beds pushed together. This was a little bit disappointing for a hotel of this standard. The charges for internet use are really high, no complimentary wi-fi connection. No tea or coffee making facility in the room. The croissants on Sunday´s breakfast were not freshly baked.

Location Internet cost is outrageous. If I had agreed to paid 100 Euros for 4 days when I checked in, I would have lost my money because there was no internet access in my room whatsoever. Manager and receptionist attentions were lousy.Rooms not spacious. Bathroom door opens directly to the bed. Breakfast although expensive is mediocre. By far, the worst hotel in my 3-week stay in Germany.
