If you want to feel (at least relatively) the atmosphere of the old Dresden, Kempinski is the place to settle, nevermind that the Taschenbergpalais had been reconstructed - most of Dresden had been, too. Location is perfect, great plus is the private ice-rink which you can use (can't say for sure if it works in summer). Rooms are very good, beds are comfortable, breakfast is diverse.
Everything about the hotel. The room was really good, 3 super restaurants with excellent cuisine and service. The hotel is a few meters away from the main tourist attractions and the opera, and less than 5 minutes walk to the old square...
Sound isolation of inward courtyard looking rooms. We stayed there the last few days before New Year, and the hotel was solid full. There were lots of children ice skating and the music was a bit loud. The sounds could easily be heard in the room, and we were on the 3rd floor. Also kids were running in the hallways at night which was annoying.
The location is excellent. The staff at reception are great. The concierge is a star. Restaurant Intermezzo is the best managed in the Kempinski Group. The F&B Manager has really upped the game throughout the hotel. We regularly stay at the World's top hotels and the Taschenberg Palace is really one of the best. 11/10 would be appropriate.
very professional from from setting up kids' beds and a potty for our daughter in the room to the impeccable concierge service. Breakfast was great as expected. Location is a pure bliss.
honestly nothing to dislike.
The location, the quality of the breakfast, the beds
Bad reception and check in. Room telephone did not work, bags arrived late in room, hotel bar staff unfriendly . Breakfast chaotic with line ups of 20 minutes to get a table. In general little interest on the part of the staff in assisting the guests of the hotel.
Even I gave call to reception, no wish was fulfilled without repeated urgency. Christmas ice skating might be from morning also for workdays.
Professional staff, friendly all the time. Great room, great breakfast.
Style, the hotel had a very nice ambiance, like a small castle Location directly next to the Residenzschloss and Zwinger, the Semperoper was about 100 meters away. Really nice and helpful staff Nice and large room, good quality furniture and bathroom
The ´Intermezzo´ restaurant was closed for dinner during our stay (3 days), as alternative the `bistro` served dinner. Unfortunately the food was expensive and very low quality, the wine was extremely expensive. We went into the city for dinner on the remaining two days.
Very nice room with a great view, brilliant location
Room service - club sandwich and ceasar salad were both really bad, especially the club sendwich
we were upgraded and enjoyed the room, the sight and The swimming pool.
we had no breakfeast 31.-€/per person is too much for 07:00 am.
The building is amazing. The breakfast was the best I ever had.
Location, comfort, swimming pool.
Restaurants in the building no good for vegetarians.
Perfectly located in the old city, close to the Zwinger, Opera House etc., etc.. Excellent value -- top class hotel at reasonable rate.
Location of the hotel, size of the room
The room 423 is noisy, has no individual temperature control, the mattress is hard. Service in Intermetzo restaurant could be improved.
Lovely room. Well reconstructed Historic structure. Staff was excellent.
My husband had a roast beef sandwich in the Bistro that had very little roast beef in it. They could not take us for dinner at Intermezzo; however, they made a reservation for us at the Top rated Alte Meister. We loved it. Their food was outstanding.
Staff in bar. Size of room Quality of food at breakfast
Heating/air conditioning system outdated (heating pipes hot despite nice outside temperature) Breakfast in Brasserie not 5 star standard (noisy, crowded)
It was fantastic to stay Kempinski Dresden. Service was amazing, staffs were kind, room was neat and comfortable. Perfect location to visit Dresden's must see places. Moreover, if you have kids, you can get children's amenities like bath toy, baby lotion and shampoo etc.
It is not easy to have good parking places if hotels have good location like Kempinski Dresden. But, information for parking places should be provided more. I didn't know that I had to use the public garage. The public parking place is connected to the hotel by elevator. It is very convenient but I can hardly find that the elevator goes to the hotel.
Delivery of goods and loading /unloading made a lot of noise. First night at 5.30 a.m. second night at 2 a.m.!
Everything was wonderful
Everything! From location to hotel staff and facilities. The hotel itself is a touristic attraction.
This is a beautiful hotel with a great location. The property is an old palais with lots of charm. It was in easy walking distance to the center and lot's of great restaurants. Our room was spacious and comfortable. It was a great value as well.
the meal we had in the evening in the restaurant intermetzo. it was poorly prepared ,ridiculous small portions and very expensive . when we asked to see the bottle of the cremant we were served for aperitive ,we had to find out that it was a prosecco!!! this is not acceptable in a hotel of this standard.
Swimming pool is very nice. Big bathroom and room are clean and comfortable. Variety and quality of Breakfast buffet Very good location
