Location and room were perfect for the weekend away.
Rostock was an influential Hanseatic League port, and shipping remains big business. Ferries from the modern port link the city to Denmark, Sweden and Finland across the Baltic Sea.
On the other side of the Warnow River is the Maritime Museum. The Neue Messe exhibition centre is just south, while north is the seaside town of Warnemünde, now considered part of greater Rostock. Its sandy beach ends at the innovatively designed Teapot. The next door lighthouse guards the entrance to the river which runs parallel to cobbled Alexandrinenstraße with its colourful half-timbered bungalows.
Rostock’s oldest part is the furthest inland and centres on the Old Market, overlooked by St Peter’s Church whose spire offers fabulous views across the rooftops. The New Market is lined by gabled houses and the porticoed town hall, and houses north Germany’s largest Christmas market, watched over by towering St Mary’s Church.
Shops line pedestrian Kröpeliner Straße leading from here past University Square, the new city centre. Rostock University is one of the oldest in northern Europe and nearby are parts of the medieval walls and a former city gate. Beyond is the KTV district, home of the best nightlife.
Booking.com’s accommodation ranges from hotels near the train station to cheap apartments and guest houses near Rostock-Laage Airport.
Rostock is the largest city of the state of Mecklenburg-...
Rostock is the largest city of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pommerania with a fair bit of history dating back to when it first received the city rights of a free city in 1218. It is known for its closeness to some of the best beaches in Germany as well as the university (founded in 1419) and the FC Hansa Rostock football club. Make sure you pay a visit to Marienkirche (St Mary's church) and Warnemünde (beach suburb). Plenty of ferry links to Scandinavia, too.

Rostock is a great place to visit all year round, but especially when the Christmas market is on. Slightly more traditional / less touristy than Berlin, Hamburg etc. Make sure to bring proper winter clothes, though.

The waterfront is filled with open spaces to enjoy the views. There are many wide walking areas and floating museums which add to the historical part of Rostock. This is a city which blends old architecture with new beautifully. A slight hill to the city's square sets the scene beautifully as mid-rise properties, often mixed use, are adorned with flowers and interesting windows and facades. I would like to return. I recommend Borwin restaurant on the waterfront and the ferry to Warnemunde from here (could be one-way). Ship building and commerce on the seas is an eye opener. Note the animals on rooftops.. Rostock has fun with sailing, music fests, etc.

We stayed at the Pentahotel because it is just a short walk from our favorite restaurant in town, Borwins Hafenrestaurant, which is always a great dining experience. The hotel was absolutely lovely as well. Can highly recommend.

Travelling through Rostock on a number of occasions, this was the first time not just driving to/from the ferry straight away. And this town seems to have soo much to offer! I'll check it out next time around.

It is a great place to visit during the off season.
It is a great place to visit during the off season. People are friendly, it's quiet and there is a lot of good food. you can also travel to nearby towns by train or bus to do something different. I recommend going to Bad Doberan and taking the Molli from there.
We travel at least 6 months per year internationally and the Radisson Blu in Rostock is practically perfect. The rooms are a good size with plenty of storage, comfortable beds, amazing shower, great staff and so well appointed. The gym was large with free weights and numerous machines. The restaurant was quite nice with excellent service, unfortunately we didn't get to check out the rooftop bar. The breakfast had many options and staff available to assist.
Clean and comfortable room with all the basic amenities, including a simple kitchen with a coffee maker, sink, fridge and a basic set of plates, silverware, cups. The hotel has bike storage facilities, which is useful if you plan to go on bike rides in the region. Not too far (by bike) from the Rostock Lütten Klein S-bahn station with regular trains to/from Rostock and Warnemunde. A good base for cycling along the Baltic Sea route.
Breakfast was good with lots of options.
Most of it was Bio ingredients.
Hotel is in the city center and easy to reach by public transport.
Car parking is not fully available with the hotel ( reservation needed) and it has be parked in the paid parking facility beneath the mall next to it which costs 12 EUR per day.
Hotel staff were very co operative by providing the information about the city, transport etc..
The hotel was clean and the staff was really friendly. We were leaving the hotel to go out, and the receptionist suggested bringing our bags in the room so that we could walk around more and not rush back before the end of the check-in time.
The room was also quiet.
The building is just next to the central train and bus station. Takes around 35-40 mins to go to the beach.
New hotel located outside the town centre with a tram station across the street. Paid parking was available under the hotel with plenty of spots and easy access. Comfortable air conditioned room. Breakfast was only 10€ p.p. and was great value with plenty of choice.
The location is a bit away and the tram to the center is not so frequent. Nevertheless, the hotel is right opposite the tram station. It is a quiet hotel with basic facilities. I has what you need from a hotel - clean, quiet and comfortable.
The hotel is situated in a very special environment, the oldest building in the city. Excellent breakfast and a large variety of food and drink in the minibar. Shopping and restaurants within 1 km. Parking spaces right outside the hotel.
It's an apartment building converted to hotel rooms. Extremely clean and well equipped.
The location is also quite good, across the street from a mini shopping mall and the tram, and 15-20min on foot to the S Train.
Well located in Rostock near the Hbf and within a short walk into Rostock town. Great town to visit on foot and good restaurants and transport. The train station HBf was two blocks and the tram ran beside the hotel.
Well located modern hotel on the edge of the city and with easy transport links. Good on-site parking, good size and spec of room (just a bit odd with single beds in two separated rooms), wifi and TV worked well.
Hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Rostock and easily reached by tram from railway station. Ideal place to stay during the business trip. The breakfast was superb and the price reasonable.
It was local to the harbour area which had good restaurants. It was also In walking distance to Rostock town which we visited the staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking also cost extra.
The location is pretty great, as you get access easily to city center and main attractions in rostock.
I mainly interacted with the night shift, so the staff was really nice and helpful.
Outstanding homemade breakfast. Amazingly friendly staff - these are the biggest features. The place is nicely decorated and has a real traveler/explorer vibe, not the sterile hotel one.
the hotel is really new and the rooms rather big. It is in walking distance to the harbour but quite a distance to the city center. There are enough parking spaces at the hotel
