눉Price in October!
눇Ibis is a uniform Hotel, anywhere you go, you know what you get: a very small size room, with a basic bathroom (but good quality shower !), and minimalist service, without the frills.
This is, normally, reflected in the Hotel’s prices, which is adjusted to the location and the time of the year.
Our Ibis in Munich had an excellent location, 10 minutes walk from the Central Train Station, and two minutes walk from the nearest U-bahn.
We have stayed in Ibis Hotels before, we knew what facilities we would get.
However, what is outrageous in ALL hotels in Munich during the September/October Trade Exhibition period is the hiked up Hotel prices: we paid 170 Euro/night for this very basic ‘plastic’ Hotel, which is outrageous.
If you have to be in Munich during this month, you will find that ALL hotels do this trick, as a ’cartel’ arrangement: increase their prices at a ridiculous level.
The hotel was very clean, well looked after and had a good offer for everything: breakfast, snack, bar, basic dinner.
Our room luckily faced the courtyard, which was very pleasant and important in Munich, where the streets echo loudly noisy people, rowing all night, in an alcoholic state, if your room faces the street.
Lack of air-conditioning, or even a chance to properly open the window, makes the room however far too warm, which is not pleasant.
All in all, given the extortionate choice Munich offers this time of the year, I would warmly suggest to stay here.
