Located across from Mainz's Main Train Station, Hotel Königshof offers a 24-hour front desk and soundproofed rooms with free Wi-Fi. Buses, trams and S-Bahn (light rail) trains are right outside.

Located on the edge of Mainz's historic Old Town district, this hotel overlooks the Rhine River. The Hilton Mainz provides air-conditioned rooms and an international restaurant.
Score from 589 reviews Very good
This Ibis hotel is in central Mainz, just 500 ft from the Rhine River and the Romisches Theater S-Bahn Station. It features well-equipped rooms and a 24-hour bar.
Score from 521 reviews Good
The staff were initially helpful, and the restaurant staff very friendly - until they disappeared halfway through our meal. Breakfast was very good!
When we arrived the room was set up for a single guest only. One second pillow was later thrown unceremoniously onto the middle of the bed, and no second set of towels was provided for the bathroom. We felt unwelcome! Also, in the restaurant, the staff seemed to disappear later in the evening, and we had to go to the bar to chase up the last part of our meal.
Poor slow internet
The location is great. Rooms are excellent. Service great.
Restaurant not that good. But it was Rosenmontag so maybe that influenced the cook.
Best location right opposite Mainz train station; various and tasty breakfast; staff is just wonderful and helpful. Really enjoyed staying there.
Free wifi doesn't support VPN (not that much of an issue though).
Just two steps away from the station. Modern rooms providing good comfort and excellent value for money. I also like the free public transport voucher card.
Wi-Fi was free as stated. The network speed, however, was slow enough to make things cumbersome. I used my costly 4G connection instead. The Wi-Fi connection could be upgraded but was a paid option. Nothing else to criticise. Thanks.
Great attention to detail - is not luxurious, but one of the best run hotels I've stayed at - they have thought it all through
Free broadband is slow, but they make it clear at the time of booking, so no complaints
The room temp. was too cold There was a bad smell from WC in the room
nice rooms close to train station
worst wifi I have ever had in any hotel (let alone a 4 star hotel). Uploading a 10MB powerpoint to my dropbox took 30 minutes....
Not comfortable during summer and winter. Always small breeze of air flow in the room around the bed, which disturbs sleeping.
For a small space, the design was really good. Space on either side of sink wasn't vast, but it was enough that my husband and I each had a place for our necessities. Plenty of power receptacles. Clean room, close to the train station. Staff was always helpful.
Wish it had a better design for the walk from train station to hotel and back.
1. The staff is excellent 2. The room clean and warm
The Staff The Breakfast
Location Wifi that actually works Good breakfast Brilliant staff Cleanliness Good bathrooms
It appeared there was a rationing of towels and pillows but nothing that could not be solved.
Staff was nice, location was ideal, and breakfast was nice.
Pay for parking, pay for enternet, room was small and the TV was low end.
This is the second time we have stayed. Very convenient to the train station and then off to Frankfurt the next morning. Also easy to navigate from the hotel to the shopping area.
Two nights before our stay the rate was over 200euro per night. We had to wait until the morning of our arrival to book the room and the rate dropped to 112 euro.
The isolation of the room is very good so one can sleep properly.
The temperature of the room is hard to adjust as the thermostat is not digital. They place a bottle of water inside the room in a shelve, with a label saying, are you thirsty? Then pay 3.90 euros!!! It seems a really unfortunate joke to find yourself in that situation after traveling a far distance. The room is like a 3 start hotel, not 4 stars at all. The "free" WiFI is extremely slow, even to load Gmail and send mails is super slow. If you want better WiFI, you have to pay more!!
Clean, friendly staff. Very good breakfast.
To small a bar area which was not manned that much. Not enough sitting area in foyer or bar.
free public transport, Parking
I liked the quiet room even though the hotel was very busy. The room was very clean and comfortable.I loved being able to turn down the heat with convenient air-con and instructions! The hotel is beside a bus stop and also just a short walk to the city centre.
The breakfast was mediocre and I thought it was a bit expensive. The staff found it hard to cope with an influx of people at the same time, with a shortage of food and clean plates.
Location, bed, sober.
You will have to fight for your right to get full breakfast if you arrive at the breakfast room later than one hour before closing. Then if you do so, be ready to be watched at by the whole personal like if you would be an extra-terrestrial. Also to get in touch in the evening with the front desk was impossible.
Rooms Bathroom Bed Location Breakfast Staff Price
Lovely bathroom, comfortable mattress and better pillows than other German accommodations. Nice breakfast.
slow free WiFi, and A/C was pumping heat unless window was open in first night's room, so we had to leave window open and get noise and fumes from busy highway not 100 feet away. No help until next day, and no compensation for lousy night.
