The ARCOTEL is located close to the Foreign office, a walking distance away from Alexanderplatz. One has easy access to Berlin's major sightseeing attractions. The breakfast is truly outstanding and the overall service above Berlin standards.
All Staff were very helpful and friendly.
We only wanted a small breakfast. This was served in the bar area which was not designed for the purpose. We felt penalised because we did not order the large breakfast.
We had a wonderful stay at the Arcotel John F - the staff, facilities, food and location were all first class and I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
Good position. Very comfortable hotel
I paid for an upgrade, in which a free newspaper was included. But the same were available only in German language; for an hotel of this category (particularly useful for business trips) the availability of papers at least in english is expected. Staff very professional, but not so warm.
The location is great, although a 10 min walk away from metro, shopping areas etc.
The hotel itself is a bit outdated and jaded for a 4*+ in this part of the town. The WIFI is painfully slow. Carpets in hotel have stains.
This hotel is within walking distance of most major tourist attractions in Berlin - Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Holocost memorial, Tiergarten, Checkpoint Charlie, Museum island etc, as well as various eating options at Gendarmenmarkt and the Scheunenviertel neighborhood. It is a somewhat bland, government/business area but as a tourist it's proximity to the areas you want to go makes up for this. Our room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom exceptionally clean as was the room and included nice toiletries. We used the gym most days and whilst modestly equipped (2 Treadmills, a bike and a cross trainer), the machines were modern and in good condition. The gym overlooks a lovely park, residential area which is pleasant. We hired bikes From the hotel one day and this was well worth it - a great way to see Berlin including the wall itself as well as the memorial. It was marginally more expensive than some tourist operators but worth it so we didn't have to drop bikes elsewhere. The Wifi in the hotel was the only annoyance as often you could not connect, presumably due to too many people trying to at once. The staff were friendly and helpful and provided useful advice as well as making dinner reservations for us.
Great location, very nice room and excellent service.
The free wireless Internet was poor. Had to pay extra for decent connection.
The location was good for being close enough to a U-bahn stop and walking distance to many tourist sites, including Museum Island. There is minor construction in the area but I never heard it and it didn’t interfere with sleeping or anything else. I do tend to leave a hotel in the morning and not return until late afternoon so I can’t speak for the times in between. The hotel was very quiet at night, maybe I had no nearby neighbors but I never heard anyone. The A/C worked fine in my room and it was fairly warm in July during my visit to Berlin.
The Wi-fi was annoying because you had to log in every time you used it which was not the case for some other hotels where we stayed. But it was free and for my purposes to check on emails and information on operating hours for museums to visit, etc. it was fine.
Shower was fabulous View Rooms Rocking chair Toiletries Cleanliness Location to everything Professional friendly helpful staff Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, couldn't have been more helpful. Value for money considering everything you received We stayed in a 4 star hotel after leaving Berlin an it was no where as good as the Berlin Arcotel John F
Staff very friendly and helpful, beds very comfortable, excellent location. Free apples for guests!
Wifi not always reliable, however staff helped to resolve issues. Minibar prices very high.
Good quality and nice location. Friendly staff.
The provided WiFi was very slow and unstable ... after logging with my Facebook account it was much faster, but it was spamming on my behalf.
Great location – 1 minute walk from the subway and bike rentals. A lot of POIs all around. The staff was very friendly and forthcoming. And the restuarant / bar on the first floor had some of the best food we tried in Berlin.
Free WiFi was unbearably slow, and a lot of times, difficult to connect to. No hair conditioner.
location decor in rooms staff extremely polite and helpful choice of tea and coffee in the room
no kettle in the room, you had to call reception for hot water price of breakfast but we went to a place just round the corner
Excellent location, wonderful facilities, nice food, nice drink, deffinatley a 4* hotel. One or two staff were polite (mainly the new 'in training staff)
We had to wait an additional 2 and a half hours to check in, we asked for a double and got a twin, there answer was to push the beds together with wasn't acceptable as i specified a double bed. We still ended up with a double and two separate quilts which ruined the romance. Most of the staff were ignorant and spoke down to you. In my eyes if you a 4* you should have at least a decent amount of respect for your guests. I wasn't expecting 5* butler service but a smile would of been nice with no rude comments.
Sound proof rooms. Very quiet.
Early check-in was not possible at that morning. They promised to call me when the room was ready but they never did. Wifi slow.
Size of the room, which was quite large (although we had taken up their offer to upgrade from the Comfort Double room to a Superior room). We also had a pleasant view from the back of the hotel over a square/park. The room was very quiet and the decor was attractive. Comfy beds. Even though we booked a double room, when we arrived the room had separated twin beds which we then had to push together. The hotel was walking distance from Museum Island (about 10 minutes), and also Gendarmenmarkt where we ate most nights - beautiful square.
The surrounding area if basically a construction site (not the hotel's fault!), so that the walk to Museum Island involved walking through boarded-off areas on Schinkelplatz, also along the river because of re-construction of the Schloss, and then the Schlossbrucke was being renovated as well! And the eastern half of Unter den Linden! It will be good when it is all finished though! The room had the large rocking chair, but no other (there was only a stool at the desk) so we had to ask for a second chair so that we could both sit at the window and look out at view - the chair was delivered promptly which was nice. The room was basically clean but there were a lot of black marks on the walls from the rocking chair. We were meant to have slippers and newspaper included in our upgrade, but received neither (I guess the newspaper would have been in German anyway).
It was a great experience at all. The staff was very polite and helpful!!
the breakfast is not included and is very expensive, although, it was delicious!! The nearest metro station is about 400-500mts far from de hotel
The location was first class
The wi-fi was erratic and required constant reconnecting instead of being automatic after initial logging on.
Everything was great but the sometime slow staff.
In check-in I waited about 10 minutes. But later on, I did not experience this again. I would suggest that when there is a line next to the check-in desk, some extra personnel come to help.
location is great best soundproofed room we have ever been in.great breakfast.lots of restaurants and coffe shops near the hotel.-u- bahn station right around the corner.staff are nice and helpfull. great value for money.
Great staff that spoke excellent English; very helpful.
Parking can be an issue.
The wi- fi connection was hopeless. I had to ask staff to connect it for me. My husband had to ask staff to connect his as well. It kept on dropping out for both of us. We have been travelling Europe for 5 weeks with no previous wi-fi problems.
Fantastic location - just off busy Friedrichstrasse, quiet and comfortable. Great room amenities, excellent customer service. Very enjoyable and fantastic value for money.
The breakfast seems expensive (22 euro per head) so, following other comments left here, we've decided into eat at a lovely restaurant instead, which is just on the back of the hotel. (I won't write their name here but you will easily find it.) We had a huge brunch, and paid 36 for everything. Seemed much better deal.
