big spacious rooms
Great location. Comfy beds.Pleasant room deco and style.Seems very clean.
You need to keep on logging into the WiFi it keeps disconnecting. The bathroom was ok - The soaps are not of the best quality and the shower room overall is not very comfortably organized.
I came with a car. The Hotel does not have its own garage for the hotel guests. More over just to stop and stay for a couple of minutes with the car is very difficult, as you have to stop on one of the lane! during the period to manage to take out the luggage and check in in the hotel the Police already was there to warn me.
The location of the hotel, next door to Museum Island, 5 minutes walk to the nearest U baun station and 15 minutes from the transport hub at Alexander Platz was ideal. It was also a quietly located and comfortable hotel. Don't take any notice of the gripes about the wifi - the free version is quite adequate.
The breakfast menu was fine, if not the most lavish by German standards, but as is too often the case, the streaky bacon and worst of all the solid scrambled eggs should be avoided.
excellent ratio price / location / quality
Great location for sightseeing High Standard of accommodation Very Clean Excellent value quick lunch Very helpful staff
Cost of breakfast Cost of wine
Walking distance to Museum Island and other tourist attractions; Better neighborhood ambiance than ultra modern Potsdamer, Alexanderplatz, and Brandenberg gate areas. Hotel design nice, very good restaurant, pleasant bar.
The inconsistent free wifi and absence of a fast check out method. Minor issues in real scheme.
Spacious rooms, excellent breakfasts, very efficient and friendly staff
Mini bar items very, very pricey for example 4.90 euro for a bottle of water we found this to be really excessive !
Room was good
No restraints on the bed
The location is perfect, you may even do not need a ticket for publick transport. You can reach the main street just in 5 min walking. Great breakfast.
The Wifi connection was not so good.
Location was good, great value for money, very nice room ... Nice small fitness (cardio) room and a three very good saunas.
The ARCOTEL is located close to the Foreign office, a walking distance away from Alexanderplatz. One has easy access to Berlin's major sightseeing attractions. The breakfast is truly outstanding and the overall service above Berlin standards.
we felt extremely comfortable and the staff i felt were 100%
nothing found everything brilliant
All Staff were very helpful and friendly.
We only wanted a small breakfast. This was served in the bar area which was not designed for the purpose. We felt penalised because we did not order the large breakfast.
The room and ensuite were very comfortable.
I inadvertently used my debit card as a room guarantee and tried to have the charge reversed by the hotel a few days after I checked out. They were not able to do this for me (even though the account had been paid in full) in a timely manner and so I lost use of those funds during my entire holiday.
We had a wonderful stay at the Arcotel John F - the staff, facilities, food and location were all first class and I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
While staff were super helpful dinning room staff were so on top of every little detail that anyone would be pleased. Location to sites, bus and subway and museum island is excellent. Best choice and quality of breakfast ever; I'm missing it.
Need to reset free internet too frequently.
Location was good
Stuff were not helpful. No door man for help
Good position. Very comfortable hotel
I paid for an upgrade, in which a free newspaper was included. But the same were available only in German language; for an hotel of this category (particularly useful for business trips) the availability of papers at least in english is expected. Staff very professional, but not so warm.
The location is great, although a 10 min walk away from metro, shopping areas etc.
The hotel itself is a bit outdated and jaded for a 4*+ in this part of the town. The WIFI is painfully slow. Carpets in hotel have stains.
This hotel is within walking distance of most major tourist attractions in Berlin - Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Holocost memorial, Tiergarten, Checkpoint Charlie, Museum island etc, as well as various eating options at Gendarmenmarkt and the Scheunenviertel neighborhood. It is a somewhat bland, government/business area but as a tourist it's proximity to the areas you want to go makes up for this. Our room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom exceptionally clean as was the room and included nice toiletries. We used the gym most days and whilst modestly equipped (2 Treadmills, a bike and a cross trainer), the machines were modern and in good condition. The gym overlooks a lovely park, residential area which is pleasant. We hired bikes From the hotel one day and this was well worth it - a great way to see Berlin including the wall itself as well as the memorial. It was marginally more expensive than some tourist operators but worth it so we didn't have to drop bikes elsewhere. The Wifi in the hotel was the only annoyance as often you could not connect, presumably due to too many people trying to at once. The staff were friendly and helpful and provided useful advice as well as making dinner reservations for us.
Great location, very nice room and excellent service.
The free wireless Internet was poor. Had to pay extra for decent connection.
The location was good for being close enough to a U-bahn stop and walking distance to many tourist sites, including Museum Island. There is minor construction in the area but I never heard it and it didn’t interfere with sleeping or anything else. I do tend to leave a hotel in the morning and not return until late afternoon so I can’t speak for the times in between. The hotel was very quiet at night, maybe I had no nearby neighbors but I never heard anyone. The A/C worked fine in my room and it was fairly warm in July during my visit to Berlin.
The Wi-fi was annoying because you had to log in every time you used it which was not the case for some other hotels where we stayed. But it was free and for my purposes to check on emails and information on operating hours for museums to visit, etc. it was fine.
Shower was fabulous View Rooms Rocking chair Toiletries Cleanliness Location to everything Professional friendly helpful staff Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, couldn't have been more helpful. Value for money considering everything you received We stayed in a 4 star hotel after leaving Berlin an it was no where as good as the Berlin Arcotel John F
