On the edge of a peaceful forest on the outskirts of Freiburg, this hostel features a breakfast buffet, ping-pong table and a terrace. Römerhof tram stop is only half a mile away. Jugendherberge Freiburg offers simply decorated rooms featuring sturdy wood furnishing. Each room has locking cupboards, which can be used for a fee. A breakfast buffet is provided in the hostel’s bright and spacious breakfast room. Freiburg’s picturesque Old Town is 2 miles from the hostel. Swimming can be found half a mile from the hostel, and guests can also enjoy use of the hostel's volleyball and basketball courts. Freiburg Central Train Station is 3 miles from Jugendherberge Freiburg. The hostel offers free private parking on site and Highway A5 can be reached in 3 miles. -Next door to the forest so very easy access for hiking -Lots of communal areas -Good food and drink at the brewery 5 minutes walk away -Standard continental breakfast included -Staff answered most questions by saying 'I don't know' even getting directions to the hostel was difficult. (fyi, it's tram line 1/red in the direction of littenweiler, get off at romerhof and there are signs for the hostel on ur left, it's a 10 minute walk) - HUGE, institutional-looking building, seems to appeal to school groups and families, not really geared up for backpackers - no atmosphere and not much fun to be had sorry (this was in winter, maybe things are different in summer) - No access to cooking facilities - 1 shared tv, no dvd player/cd player/music - Table tennis with no bats available, small hire fee for table tennis ball - One of our days here was a very cold public holiday, apart from playing in the snow or reading there was really little else to do. They could make much better use of the communal areas with some music, dvds, games, and maybe some talkative, friendly staff.

Die nahe liegende Natur. Mitten im Grünen mit Naherholungsgebiet . Meine Reservierung ist nicht vorhanden gewesen. Der Erwerb eines Jugendherbergausweises und Mitgliedschaft in einem Verband verursachten Zusatzkosten. Diese waren online nicht angegeben.

La chambre avec les WC/douche c'est parfait. On se sent en sécurité. Le personnel à la réception a l'air stressé, les explications sont très brèves et on ose pas poser des questions car on a l'impression de déranger le personnel. Le wifi coûte cher : 2 euros pour une heure...trop cher.

Freiburg ist gut und schnell mit der Straßenbahn Nr 1 zu erreichen. Wenn ein Einzelzimmer gebucht wird, dann erhält man ein Bett in einem Schlafsaal für 4 Personen, also kein Einzelzimmer!!! An der Rezeption mussten wir 13 E hinzuzahlen, um ein Einzelzimmer zu erhalten.
