Check In Staff extremely friendly and attentive A million miles away from a 5 star experience. The hotel is desperately in need of refurbishment. I have honestly stayed in better equipped 3 star hotel rooms. Could not fault the cleanliness but the rooms are very tired, carpets worn / ripped in corridors etc. |

The common areas are very beautiful. The staff is also polite. My room was really run down. It seems it was build 90 years ago and never got any kind of renovation. They gave me some candies for my birthday (I appreciated it) but never took away the leftovers..they stayed there for 5 days ! They also lost a shirt I had sent to laundry and found it only 24 hours after I complained ! Breakfast was said (and written) to begin a 0600 but every time I 've tried th room was still locked and only opend at 0630. Thirty minutes are really important when in a business trip. |

The location is excellent, main foyer very stylish. Room was a little bit "tired" in decor. Could not operate the air con (apart from on/off, no visible thermostat) and the in-room lighting was frustratingly dim. It needed at least one bright light to read by. We used the Chinese restaurant which was not a great experience. Food was ok, vegetables too salty, the wait for the main course was far too long. Very very expensive. |

2. Weighing scales were not in the bathroom as supposed to be. 3. We had to request slippers as these were not in the closet 4. Toilet bowl had stained marks 5. hotel staff unlocked and entered our room while we were inside the room, not respecting our privacy. this has never happened to me at any 5 star hotel! |

Impressive, monumental hotel, which will especially be appreciated by romantic souls with nostalgic feelings. The hotel is situated along a beautiful lake, and yet almost at the centre of the city. We also enjoyed the pool and the sauna facilities. Breakfast is rather expensive. Therefore we decided to go elsewhere for breakfast. |

The hotel is in a fantastic spot, very central and easy to get to. The staff were great, warm, helpful, efficient some of the best I have encountered. The breakfast was superb and the bar very good.However the hotel is tired and dated and the fabric of the building is very poor for the cost and reputation Decor old fashioned and worn. Carpets bare and skirting boards flaking.Rust marks in the bath! |

The main foyer etc is beautiful and the location easy to get to, near the train / bus stations overlooking the lake ( frozen over ) ...must be beautiful in the summer. Staff at reception were very professional and courteous, as one would expect The standard rooms are very poor, unacceptable. We got upgraded to a suite ( 209 ) behind the lift. Noisey at night. Cannot understand why a hotel of this class does not have modern flat TV and access to all the major TV channels eg Bloomberg, CNBC, BBC etc The Concierge service is outsourced and we were given incorrect times for the city bus tours as a result we missed this part of our stay. |

My wonderful view over the Aussenalster. The staff ould not have been more helpful. I thought that the breakfast was expensive pariticularly if you did not want to eat a huge amount! |

Großes, sehr sauberes, ruhiges Zimmer zum Innenhof. Grand Hotel mit lässigem Flair, leicht verstaubt, aber charmant, man wird in Ruhe gelassen, sehr schöne Bar und echtes Kaminfeuer im Foyer Leider zu laut, wenn in den Festsälen gefeiert wird |

Sehr guter Service, sehr schönes Ambiente. Das Hotel ist vorallendingen aüßerlich leicht renovierungsbedüftig. Die Betten sind nicht die Besten für den Rücken. |
