Kempinski Hotel Bristol Berlin  

Everything! From the moment the doorman welcomes you, takes your bags and parks your car, to the time he hands you your keys back. Fantastic! The staff were professional, helpful and friendly. The layout and location of the hotel was excellent for what we wanted. The food was first class (I had read remarks by previous visitors to the hotel that the breakfast buffet was not value for money, but what I think they didn't realise was that you could eat what you wanted, as much as you wanted and for as long as you wanted. So I disagree with that statement). The rooms were well furnished, the bathroom was large with a double wash-basin (which I like). The facilities were great, although I thought the fitness room was a little on the small side. An excellent bar with great staff. The concierge, at the front desk, was a mind of information, with tips on places to see and things to do (he was even forecasting the next days weather). Overall, I felt The Kempinski was the right choice and I would not hesitate to stay there again (my daughter wants to come next time).

I bought breakfast one day - and it was really poor. The worst breakfast I had in a 5 star hotel.

It's location, right in the middle of Kurfurstendamm, so you could go anywhere. The staff, especially in the breakfast room, very helpful and friendly !

When we arrived, we were offerd an upgrade, which I accepted. From a classic- or double room, to a deluxroom. Up to now, I don't know what was so delux about it ??? And although it was around 1300, the room was not ready yet, but would be in a hour or so. We came back at 1700 and the room still wasn't ready????

Superb location - less than 10 minutes easy flat walk from the Zoo Bahnhof with direct s Bahn links to the airport. Very comfortable hotel, good lobby seating/bar/area, choice of restaurants and superb outside corner terrace on the Kudamm for people watching. Great site for easy shopping on the main Kurfurstendam street with Karlstadt shop a minute away and the great store of KaDeWe just 5 minutes walk. The Berlin Zoo is only 10 minutes walk (flat) and the superb sightseeing hop on hop off buses are just across the road. Difficult to beat. We had a junior suite which was excellent with it's own seating lounge area.

Location was good. For me much not important extravagance among this was handels covered with gold (bathroom),two big pillows. Short stay not much contact with service. Pool was nice.

Very expensive beer,coffee.All russian atmosphere. Not a tourist hotel.

Really first rate staff, friendly, helpful, courteous and well- presented.

We were assdigned a room on a floor which was presumably intended for smokers as there was a distinct smell of stale tobacco in the hallways. We are non-smokers and feel we should have been asked if we wanted a smoking room but we were not aware of the problem until we had unpacked, etc. It was not a major problem but kept our stay from being entirely pleasant.

Great location for shopping and sightseeing.

There is no gym. What they refer to as gym is a very small room with no windows with one treadmill and dumbbells. Only one person can train here at a time and I assume it is not very pleasant. Fine dinning restaurant closed at 9:20 PM because staff decided to call it a night. They refused to serve. Restaurant staff does not speak English. Rooms have outdated technology like cathod ray tube TVs.

Good center location in western Berlin.

The standard booking rooms are very small. I had to add 80 eur per night to get a normal size room.
