Hotel Kipping  

Kamer en bedden waren heerlijk. Moor klassieke gebouw. Rustig hotel. Geweldig ontbijt. Vriendelijk management zonder opdringerigheid.

The standards of cleanliness and quality are very high. Building had character. Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was good, I especially liked the specialities of the region. I was very happy with it and enjoyed it a lot.

Close to the main train station and within walking distance of the old town. Luggage room is secure.

We were given a smoking room at first. We returned to reception and asked for a non-smoking room and were told that it was the last room (we were also initially told it was non-smoking). We protested that we had booked a non-smoking room - she huffed and a non-smoking room miraculously was made available. Internet is provided via 2-hr codes but you can ask for more codes. The sound of toilets refilling is quite loud and long. Reception is not super friendly. Not that many good places to eat near the hotel.

Competence of the staff. They prepared a 3rd bed for our kid that was not planned in the booking.

The hotel room was spacious, well furnished and the heating was easily controllable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was varied and generous. The proprietor speaks good English. Being in Dresden without a car, we found the location was very good for getting around; it's only 100m or so from The station, where trains go to Dresden airport and to many parts of Germany and Europe. The hotel is a fifteen-minute level walk to the town centre and the S-Bahn (tram) service is frequent and reliable. The hotel appears to be well-staffed and well-run.

This is not actually a complaint, but as English visitors we are used to finding a kettle and tea/coffee-making facilities in the bedroom. We missed this at times, especially when coming back late at night.

Very convenient as it was so close to the station yet it was very quiet. It was easy for tram connections and also within walking distance of the attractions. The hotelier was helpful and the staff friendly.

The window adjacent to the main entrance gave a bad impression of what the interior of the hotel might be like to guests on their arrival. We were disappointed that there were no toiletries (shower cap/shampoo etc.) which we have found in comparable hotels before.

Very close to the main station. Fair size room and very clean.

The price was not completely in accordance with the kind of room. When I booked the information about the hotel said that it was a four stars hotel but should be three stars at most.

The Kipping lived up to the reviews in every respect. I wanted a single room, and my room was small, but beautifully appointed, clean, and well maintained. Excellent range of programs on the television, excellent shower in the bathroom. Comfortable German-style bed. Room small, too tight really for a second person to stay. Great location within two minutes walking from Hauptbahnhof. Staff quiet and efficient. Helpful to me (I arrived very late at night; left my bag during the day after checking-out)..
