The hotel is ideally placed in a quiet street in the old town. There is a lift and the main car park is very close.
Everything including the wisteria covered street
We were there on a Monday and Tuesday and unfortunately the restaurant was closed those evenings, so we didnt get to try the fusion food.
The street where the hotel is located
A bit far to walk to the train station
Breakfast was fresh and good.
Great location, quiet and clean room, staff very friendly and excellent breakfast with probably the best coffee I've had for a while. We would definitely go back and recommend to others
Central location in Aldstadt Spacious rooms Very clean Fantastic service Great breakfasts Reasonably priced Great tips on alternative day trips
Noise levels in street till very late /early. Double glazed windows helped a bit
Perfect location, nice and spacious room, friendly staff, breakfast ok...
Lovely location in Old Town, especially friendly family run business, excellent evening meal, good inclued breakfast.Parking close by.
Was noisy at night
Excellent location on quiet street near city center. Comfortable rooms. Convenient to parking.
Very friendly and helpful service. Modern and comfortable hotel in a nice part of the old town. Very close to car park.
Nothing. Everything good
We loved our room and the gorgeous wisteria hanging outside our windows! The windows opened and we kept a bottle of Riesling on the wide ledge to cool. The beds were very comfy and the bathrooms well designed and provisioned. Breakfast was something to look forward to each morning, and our hosts could not have been nicer! We had a very fine Easter dinner at the hotel also. The meal was one of the best we had in Germany, France or Belgium. If you're ever in Freiburg, the Kreuzblume is the place to stay. Thanks to Cornelia, Diederik and Arnejan for making our stay so delightful!
We liked everything!
The staff is very friendly. At the resaurant we had a good dinner. The location.
The room was so disappointing. There is no reception. Is this a four stars hotel?
very friendly, efficient staff always helpful. Location is near-ideal.
Very nice, cozy and quiet place, courteous reception (they spoke italian!), very good breakfast
location in old town nice staff
pricey rooms not quaint, more utilitarian tiny bathroom disappointing breakfast hard to find have to pay for parking in garage around block
Location is beautiful! The hotel is in the center of the town and everything you need is within 5 minutes walk. The hotel is very quiet at night because they are not in the center of the bars and pubs. Very lovely!
No private parking, you have to park in a Garage where you have to pay €24,50 for 24 hours.
Very nice people everywhere- from chef to service staff for breakfast. Great location in a charming street at the edge of the old town with little street noise. Good choice for breakfast and excellent coffee.
Great breakfast and dinner at restaurant, very friendly staff and owner
No blackout curtains and room was very bright at night
Great location, nice staff.....
A bit "ordinary" - not great value for money.
If your idea of a good hotel is a large modern building on the outskirts of town with numerous, unfamiliar members of staff, conference facilities, mini bars in the rooms, a gym in the basement etc, then this probably isn't the hotel for you. However, we loved it because it wasn't any of those things. It is run by just a few, friendly young people who are committed to giving a high quality and friendly service. They all spoke excellent English and treated us like friends rather than customers. The hotel is a small, old building situated in one of the prettiest streets in Freiburg. The whole of the old part of Freiburg is within easy walking distance and the railway station is only a 15 minute walk away. To conclude, this is a small family run hotel in a perfect position for exploring Freiburg and I thoroughly recommend it.
Tea making facilities are provided, but unfortunately no coffee. When I enquired about the lack of coffee, the owner explained that he hadn't found an instant coffee that was good enough to use in his hotel but we could always ask for a coffee from the bar, where they serve a very good "proper" coffee
