The Hotel Backmulde offers well-equipped rooms, a traditional restaurant and free high-speed internet. It is located in the historic quarter of Heidelberg, just a 10-minute walk from Heidelberg...
Score from 263 reviews Excellent
Right on the River Neckar in Heidelberg’s historic quarter, this hotel features spacious rooms and rich breakfasts. It is just steps from the Alte Brücke bridge and the pedestrian zone.
Score from 883 reviews Good
In the lively center of Heidelberg, the Holiday Inn Express has modern accommodations, just a 10-minute walk from the Old Town and Main Station. A rich breakfast buffet and stylish bar are featured.
Score from 1365 reviews Very good
These luxuriously furnished apartments are beautifully located in the Old Town district of Heidelberg.
Score from 23 reviews Very good
Nice rooms. Good restaurant, but restaurant staff might be more friendly, especially to attend new guests. Centric location in Heidelberg.
Very poor Wifi.
Location: close to attractions and old city center. Helpfull and friendly staff Clean room. We had a quite room. Nice biergarten with home brew.
Acces to hotel and garage is not straightforward. A little more info like a detailed map would be helpful. At the end when you know how, it is easy to get there and to get out.
room cleanness, restaurant downstairs which is part of the hotel (or hotel is part of the restaurant --- really good home made beer). The restaurant serves traditional German food and beer, so feels no need to go out and seek food but the stuff you want is right downstairs. Location on the side of old town but very close and easy to walk to the castle and church.
There is no air conditioning in the room, a bit hot in the summer.
Beautiful city, hotel nearly in town centre. Easy to get to and secure parking at reasonable cost. Staff friendly and helpful. Courtyard and restaurant lovely with many beers to try.
Nothing disliked but didn't try breakfast at 12 euro each, instead feasted in town for 8 Euro incl coffee.
The warm-reception staff, quiet location in the old town, an acclaimed, popular restaurant, various fresh fruits and delicious foods in the breakfast service. Big-screen TV
no water-heater for the East-Asian guests, the pillows are too loose and soft, a long walk distance from the Bismark, the core transporation zone.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location could not be better, right in the middle of the old city. Facilities are clean and modern.
Very noisy throughout the night, due to a cabaret bar next door, Loud music until midnight and then the occasional shouting drunk person walking past our window until 3 or 4 am. Combine that with rock-hard beds, and we did not get the best sleep...
Modern, comfortable room. The hotel was right near the river, only a few minutes walk to the old bridge, and right near the castle. The on site beer garden and restaurant served good quality meals and had real atmosphere.
Big, bright, comfortable room. Perfect location in old town within easy walking distance to all the sights.
Perfect Location in town centre with a quite room, & cumfie bed, Big TV, very clean, Pub & restraunt down staris.
to many Blonds around
Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely courtyard area. Excellent beer and food. Secure parking for bikes.
Can't think of anything.
Wonderful place to stay and to eat, lively location with secure car park
Couldn't connect to wifi even when standing by router!
The hotel was clean and comfortable. Very well located in a quiet street around the corner from attractions and quite close to the castle. The restaurant is very charming. There is a nice patio with parasols to enjoy the warm weather. Own produced beers were very good as well as local type of food. Breakfast offered a good variety of food several cheese, ham, pastry, eggs, fruits, yogurt, etc) but if one wants a 5 stars buffet breakfast should pay a 5 stars hotel. It wouldnt be fair to pay a 3 stars hotel and expect to get a 5 hotel service. People in the administration and restaurant were very kind and helpfull.
This is a fantastic place to stay in the old town of Heidelberg. Great rooms, fantastic food and beer. Perfect location to explore this great town
Excellent location just outside if the pedestrian zone in Altstadt, 1/2 block from trail up to castle. Quieter than further west on the Hauptstrasse. Biergarten was loud until about 10 pm, then quiet even on that side if the building. Rooms are on the small side (vs comparable hotels in Germany) but plenty for a solo traveler or couple. Free wi-fi, and very nice staff with excellent English skills.
Bathroom a bit cramped, but in the end, who cares? I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
This is a lovely hotel tucked into the heart of Heidelburg, quiet and comfortable, and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant more so.
Staff was friendly. Position excellent. Loved the Breweryand it's beer.
no tea coffee facilities in room. tried to charge us for breakfasts we didnt have and staff attitue poor when ee highlighted this
Great location at historic town restaurant and modern clean room and bath and helpful English speaking staff.
roon without aircondition equipment
no shower gel conference taking place meant restaurant too noisy to consider
Friendly staff, historic building, beer bar & ancient restaurant, comfortable room
The breakfast is a bit expensive and less options (no salmon and fried egg) than the previous stay in summer. The wood stairs to connect the side building may be inconvenient for those guests bringing big luggages. The bathroom is too small for those big guys. No water heater available after prior request, but the free hot water could be fectched from the hotel restaurant (before it is closed). The safe deposit box is good, but it requires the credit card or EC card to run, which may mean some risks to be disclosed.
Front desk girl spoke very good English and was very helpful. Great bock beer from the brewery. Suckling pig and sauerbraten were good, but the red cabbage and white cabbage dishes were outstanding ... couldn't get enough! Interesting cellar night club under hotel.
Parking close by, but expensive at 16 Euro per night.
Comfort of the room and bed, and cleanliness of the bathroom. Briliiant brewery and restaurant. Good location to the Altstadt Station
Nothing, it was a really an excellent staying experience
Fantastic location in old town, right next to christmas markets so no taxi journeys required once at hotel. Excellent food in the Brauhaus restaurant. Comfortable beds.
Standard room faced main road and thus very noisy until early hours of the morning, on the second night we upgraded to a room in the courtyard and this was very quiet for the remainder of our stay. When we contacted the hotel prior to our stay they told us that the standard room would be quiet, which it wasn't and this would be our only complaint.
The location is good and very close to the old town. The stuff is very nice to provide dinner in our room, though the restaurant was fully booked.
The restaurant is fully booked during the visit.
