Pirna is an ideal base if you want to explore Saxon Switzerland. The Old Town is compact but very lovely. It has very tranquil ambiance, which suits travelers seeking a peaceful getaway. For the people to love old architecture, Pirna is a gem as it is completely unspoiled with modern concrete monsters. There are many great restaurants and cafes within the Old Town, though most close quite early. From Pirna, it only takes within less than 1 hour to get to Bastei, Bad Schandau or other smaller towns.AnFinland

Hotel gives a Guest Card which costs 2 euro per day and with this card you can take any public transportation for free including the boat at the Stadt wehlen. Old city is just 10 minutes walk. By taking the bus you can go to Königstein and take S bahn to come back the hotel. From this hotel it is very easy to Malerwweg. I was sick during my stay and asked for a kettle. They lended me one. Breakfast was a good value. I recommend that too.

This apartment is very good for two persons for medium or long stay. One of the main and the most beautiful town of Saxony, Dresden is very close from this place (about 30 minutes by train or car). Other places which are worth to visit like Konigstein fortress or a stone bridge in Bastei are also not far from this place. I'd like to recomend stay in Piran in Ferienwohnung Elbtraum to others also because of owner who is very helpful.SebastianPoland

You can self cater if you want to, or you are close to bars and restaurants of altstadt Pirna if you prefer. Supermarket and bakery right across the road, and right behind that was the bridge across the Elbe that takes you directly to the railway station or into the pretty town centre with a 10-20 minute walk. Super location for day trips into Dresden - about a 30 minute rail trip - or going down the Elbe to explore the excellent walking tracks.

There was everything we needed and a parking slot for our three bicycles under a roof, that was important, because of the rain. The entrance with a code, that you have to imply after moving down the upper part of the box near the entrance door (where stays the name of the apartment).

It is not a fancy apartment, but still very comfortable. Cafe and Biergarten right outside. It is a few minutes walk downhill to the marketplace, where there is a really good breakfast restaurant Canaletto, this is highly recommended.
