A Hotel without BREAKFAST.
We have arrived at La Isla at 22.15 hrs to find no one but a closed door. After 10 minutes the owner of a Pizzeria nearby, called us and informed us that he has the keys.
He wanted payment in advance while not accepting a VISA CARD but wanted cash. We needed the cash for breakfasts, lunches and other shopping. We paid in cash. Surprisingly, he then asked for another Euro 50 to make good for loss of keys. That's an excuse because if I loose them I would not enter. Then I would be fined.
By now time was showing 23.00 hrs and tired, so, we paid. The Pizzaiolo informed us that there is no LIFT and about this not even BOOKING.COM knows. There are 2 rooms on every floor - 1 on each side - ours was on the 3rd floor. So, we had to go up nearly a wooden, squeezing, high and narrow, spiral stair case, which is very awkward to go up with a luggage. It's tiring and one has to stop to rest.
Being in the room we washed our hands to find out that the drain is nearly blocked and water takes too long to pass, when it does. It was still in that state when we left.
Entering at 19.00 hrs the second evening we met the lady landlord and on stating what was wrong, she instantly stated: No English, No English, No Italian. Then she wrote on a piece of paper that she will be there till 22.00 , which was not true because after an hour we were going out for dinner to find no one but the main door LOCKED, not just closed.
On Thursday evening, being the last, we decided to hand over the keys so that we will have the refund, since we needed to leave the place on the morrow early. When we arrived at the Hotel (sic), in a very small room was a sleeveless, tattooed man. We went up to our room, opened and I went down again to hand him over the keys. No way, no refund of 50 Euro. After 10 minutes he went out, entered the Pizzeria and called me in.
