Score from 102 reviews Very good
The hotel is situated very close to the centre of Selters. Parking in the town is rather limited, but the Adler has its own small car park for residents. The hotel is a classic family-run German provincial establishment with traditional decor, large rooms and is kept extremely clean. The management and staff are very welcoming, warm, friendly and helpful.
I had no complaints about the hotel. Unfortunately I had no opportunity to try the restaurant for a main meal, but the menu seems to be classic countryside German. Breakfast was plentiful and varied including fruit, cereals, fresh bread, cheese, sausage and hard-boiled egg. The coffee was particularly good.
Price Family room available (4 people) Good breakfast
Lots of street noise below late at night (our room faced the front of the hotel). My husband and I slept on the extra sofa bed (our children had the twin beds) which was rock-hard and extremely uncomfortable. The regular twin beds in the room were fine though. Hotel appeared closed when we arrived (Saturday 6pm!) and after much knocking, we phoned and eventually were let in - frustrating after a long journey!
In particular, people, services ...
Very convenient family room with bedroom for parent
Accommodation was spacious. Breakfast varied. Despite its location it was a very quite place.
No fire escape or evacuation procedure in the event of a fire. Boiled eggs for breakfast were hard and cold and the coffee had been standing quite a while.
